New Staff Member! More Pictures
OutCast News |12/02/2003 | 18:37 CET -Ambershee

As always, we're proud to announce those who are aiding us in our project! Josh Singh will be doing some excellent singleplayer and multiplayer character models for us in the near future, but more information about those will follow! Until then I can leave you with an update in the screenshots section - a few more models for us to ponder. The first is by Lancer's Reactor modeler 'Major Striker' - who produced a wonderful 'Mig-45' that we were allowed to use in our own game, and the second is Redmund's 'Ripper' which we'll be using also!

We need You! Technology Test
OutCast News |06/02/2003 | 20:23 CET -Ambershee

As always, we're deeply understaffed, and I'm not going to let this project go down the toilet!! We've recently had a number of Hoaxes, which upsets me deeply. Those responsible should be ashamed. At current, the production side of OutCast is being handled single handed, and its a real b*tch of a project to manage that way.

On a brighter note, there will be something to see very soon! That is if someone can do one (ONE) thing. Create a Quake 3 weapon that will replace any of the current ones, in image only. After that, I'll show off some screenshots of the first OutCast singleplayer level (note its only terrain for show - nothing special)

OutCast needs you! Demo details.
OutCast News | 20/01/2003 | 17:08 CET -Ambershee

A happy new year to you from all of our staff!
OutCast needs you! Model staff are the highest priority right now, as the all important production line has stopped almost completely! Mappers and scripters of course, are also of high priority.
If you believe you're interested in at least donating a model or two, please e-mail [email protected]

Another note, details of the demo will be appearing under the singleplayer overview as production allows. Note, don't expect any results, we're still in the 'starting' phase and have nothing to show.

Forums...
OutCast News | 12/09/2002 | 03:45 CET -Serpent

As Ambershee was saying, I will be helping with the website, starting with the forums. They will be up very soon. I will add a naked board (unskinned) then skin it as I find the time. It really shouldn't take too long. I will also be acting as a PR for OutCast and hope to bring more attention to it. First I will be giving the site a slight facelift so it is more presentable to PlanetQuake as far as hosting goes.

Update: Forums added, a few odd bugs, but works until we get a "real" host.

Music Ahoy! Welcomes to Serpent
OutCast News | 12/09/2002 | 21:38 CET -Ambershee

Music is being uploaded in Bytesize chunks (Well about 950'000 bytes size to be precise) Which also means that the files are suitable for download, even for 56kers! There are currently 7 songs uploaded, more on the way. However, it may take a few days for the link to work to some tracks. No Worries ;)
We've also very happily accepted another member to out team - Serpent. He'll be working mostly on publicity and this website - so I'll hope to see those wonderful forums we need so much... Won't say too much, I'll let him introduce himself..

The Results are in!
OutCast News | 12/06/2002 | 21:28 CET -Ambershee
Thats right.... Our music is temporarily decided... We've gone for... The electric theme!! Song previews go up as soon as possible :)!

Its Decision Time! Plus, We NEED You!
OutCast News | 12/04/2002 | 21:40 CET -Ambershee
Decision time! Please send input to [email protected] as this is important! What do you think... Should OutCast benefit from a fairly heavy electric guitar based soundtrack (a la Quake 2) or a funky quirky one (a la DUNE?)
Secondly, OutCast is in desperate need of modeling staff! If you are an aspiring 3d modeler or know one, get in touch! We need all the help we can get to set this major project underway.
Keep fresh! The Ambershee.

OutCast Demo Release?
OutCast News | 11/25/2002 | 20:40 CET -Ambershee

Well, no news for almost a month now? Have we forgotten the project? No!! Its still in progress as always. Right now we've managed to choose an engine that we can use - the original Quake 3 engine. Still no host for our site though - so no forums just yet :(. Still ain't got my burner working so don't expect the theme music soon (yes it does exist)

Welcomes go out to Paposo!
OutCast News | 10/11/2002 | 20:45 CET -Ambershee

Say hello and give greetings to the newest member of da crew - Paposo! Paposo will be volunteering to do work in his spare time on our somewhat massive models list. Thanks a bunch man! A couple of new models have been added to the screenshots section, just to show off what this guy can do. As for our theme music downloads - you'll have to wait until I can get my blasted CD writer working. Rats. Chill out for now. The Ambershee

Wot no updates?
OutCast News | 9/25/2002 | 18:56 CET -Ambershee

Its been almost a whole month here, without any new word so I've finally decided to get on with the website. I believe we are no longer looking at an affiliation with the GameSpy Network, so we'll remain on our Geocities account for some time until a proper home can be found.

There are some new model renders to be looked at, though they aren't skinned yet. Of course the images aren't too revealing but of course that will change! Check out the new models in the Screenshots section and the Music section, which is included in both the Singleplayer and Multiplayer menu ;)! Music will be given in special 30 second 'preview' pieces for download soon.

OutCast Site Back / Music updates / Model Renders
OutCast News | 8/30/2002 | 19:46 CET -Ambershee

OK! Got that little hickup sorted out! - I don't use pagebuilder RaT! Well, I'm in the process of including that model render page now, so expect it online by the 5th september :) Music wise, we're trying to get due process of 3 Thin Lizzy tracks to use on the OutCast soundtrack - Bad Reputation for the opening, Out in the Fields for the final showdown and Thunder & Lightening for the end credits -- Rock On!
Check later, The Ambershee

OutCast Models!
OutCast News | 8/14/2002 | -CoMBAT RaT

OH NO! Looks like I made a boo-boo! What happened to the front page? ACK! Well i think it might be page builder! Sorry guys, no model renders. I dont want this to happen to every page as i dont know how to fix it!

Hey everybody! Geocities sux! Well, thats not the point is it? Ive finished modelling quite a few new models for you guys! Beware, no Skins yet. In the Weapons Section and in the Equipment section you will find some pictures of the Nail Gun, the Flechette Launcher, the Shotgun (which people over at Rtcw.co.uk may recognize :D ) and as for Equipment, you'll find the Metal Detector and the Dynamite! So head on over and take a look!

OutCast Site Updates
OutCast News | 8/7/2002 | 18:31 CET -Ambershee

A large operation has been underdone to update some of these pages! You will now find a complete index of all the 75 weapons of OutCast, various enemies and characters with a brief description. Multiplayer team options are now viewable, alongside a full level type list and a little bit of info on each. Work is also underway for a media based site that will be a little more impressive, designed for users with a net connection faster than 56kb/s. This site will probably require a browser that supports mp3 sounds, flash 4 graphics and java applications.

OutCast Soundtrack
OutCast News | 8/2/2002 | 21:27 CET -Ambershee

A beautiful dynamic sound track has been produced for OutCast. There's a good 20 tracks, all with their own flavouring. Parts of this sound track will become available as soon as OutCast becomes hosted - so hold on tight. The artists - Frank Klepacki, David Arkenstone and Jarrid Mendelson have worked on some of Westwood's popular strategy games including the Command & Conquer and Dune series.

Mocha Junkie arrives
OutCast News | 8/2/2002 | 21:21 CET -Ambershee

More welcomes go out to Mocha Junkie, who will hopefully help out with the scripting of OutCast in his spare time. Because of a job, he won't be available all the time. Its nice to know that this project will soon be on the road. Expect some minor results soon, as model work is currently underway.

Combat rat joins the fray!
OutCast News | 7/27/2002 | 21:40 CET - Ambershee

Hearty welcomes go out to the second member of the OutCast team - Combat rat. Hopefully we'll see some more of his excellent work, such as the two models posted on Rtcw.co.uk to join the current OutCast progress. Combat rat is currently on holiday and is unavailable, so don't expect immediate results.

Site under Construction
OutCast News | 7/26/2002 | 19:35 CET - Ambershee

At last, after a good four months of solo work I'm preparing a website for OutCast! Watch this space for more details as time goes on. In case your wondering why all the reference to Gamespy, I'm hoping to produce a site to be hosted under PlanetQuake, as is suitable for this product!

Both the website and the developing team require constant staffing, so I personally welcome any aid to the project. Currently there is only me on the staff list! This is quite dismal, and I currently search for modders!
