STUDENT SUPPORT
There is a
wide variety of support systems in place for students studying both inside
the UK but which are extremely important for those students living in
Continental Europe and further afield.
These include:
Student Academic Links (SALs)
SALs, one per Faculty, can be contacted by students when he/she has a question and doesn't
know where to go for the answer.
See the SALs for Southern Europe in the box on the right --->>> Student Support Links (SSLs) SSLs, one per Region, provide information and support to students who encounter problems or difficulties in finding their way around the University's systems, procedures and requirements. The SSL role is general rather than related to issues concerning a particular course or faculty, and comes under the remit of Vice President Student Support. Disabled Student Links (DSLs) DSLs must be accessible and provide information, assistance and support for disabled students within their region, where required, to enable them to overcome regional problems related to disability issues affecting their ability to study with the Open University.
Enabled Students Group
(ESG)
A group of students whose aim is to
assist students with disabilities, whatever and where ever they might
be.
Peer Support Online
An online support system where students
can login and send anonymous emails to a selection of volunteer peer
supporters. Available through your FC desktop.
