SPRING AND SUMMER PILGRIMAGES IN 2002

LOURDES, GARABANDAL, LIMPIAS, SAN TORIBIO
APRIL 5, 2002-APRIL 13, 2002

LOURDES
Join thousands in Blessed Sacrament & Torchlight Processions.  Come here in procession.  Go and drink at the spring.

GARABANDAL
Between 1961 to 1965 Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared over 2,000 times to 4 children.  The Miracle will occur in the near future, on a Thursday, between April 8 to April 16.  We don't know the year.  We are staying in the village at the beautiful home of Lucia Fernandez, owner of the Religious Shop next to the Church, and first cousin of seer, Conchita.

LIMPIAS
This is the most beautiful crucifix.  Millions of people saw Jesus Eyes open and they saw blood ooze from the many wounds caused by the heavy crown of thorns on Jesus Head.  The blood covered Jesus Face and spread over His entire Body.

SAN TORIBIO
A Precious Relic of the True Cross of Jesus is preserved in a Benedictine Monastery in San Toribio.  It is 25 inches long and it is bigger than the relic of the True Cross that is kept in the vault of the Vatican.

FULL ITINERARY:

April 5: Departure

Apr 6-April 8: 2 nights in Lourdes
In Lourdes, there are opportunities to attend Holy Mass, do the Way of the Cross, visit the Baths Healing Waters, and free time to walk the grounds of the most famous Marian Shrine in the world.  In late afternoon and evening, we are going to join thousands of other pilgrims in the Blessed Sacrament and Torchlight Processions.  For the Healing Water Baths, we recommend you to join the shorter early-morning queues.  Pilgrims who have previously been here are going to tell you that you must not miss this opportunity.

April 8: This morning, we are going to follow in the footsteps of Saint Bernadette.  In the afternoon, we depart for northern Spain.  Passing picturesque coastal villages, we then travel through lush green mountains to the very remote Spanish mountain hamlet of San Sebastian de Garabandal, where we check into our pension-hotel.

April 9: Today we visit the quaint village of San Sebastian de Garabandal.  This isolated village has remained practically unchanged since the apparitions of Our Lady in the 1960's.  Between 1961-1965, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel appeared over 2,000 times to four young girls at Garabandal.  We are going to attend Holy Mass in the small parish church and climb the small path of the Way of the Cross which leads to the grove of nine pine trees situated on a bluff which overlooks the village.  This grove is the site of numerous apparitions and of the forthcoming Miracle.  We are going to see some of the seers homes, the well, and the site of the Miracle of the Visible Communion.  As pre-announced, on July 18, 1962, the Host suddenly appeared on Conchita's tongue while she was in ecstasy.  There was a large crowd present, and yet only an amateur photographer was successful in photographing the phenomenon.

April 10: After breakfast, we depart for Saint Peter of Limpias Church, where we are going to venerate the Limpias Crucifix.  The work of an unknown Spanish artist, this crucifix has been venerated in this church since1755.  At different intervals throughout 1919, millions of people saw the eyes of Jesus open and close, sometimes looking towards heaven and at other times looking towards different directions of the world.  At the same time, millions of witnesses saw blood ooze from the many wounds caused by the heavy crown of thorns on Jesus Head.  The blood covered Jesus Face and spread over His entire Body.  It is said that no crucifix expresses the sufferings and the love of Jesus for us as much as the Crucifix of Limpias.  It is the most accurate, the most moving and the most beautiful crucifix in existence.  Many temporal and spiritual favors are obtained each day by the veneration of this holy Crucifix.  We return to Garabandal for supper and for overnight stay.

April 11: After breakfast, we travel west towards San Toribio de Liebana.  Along the way, you are going to see the seacoast of northern Spain and the spectacular and breathtaking mountain range of Cantabria.  We are going to attend noon Mass at the Benedictine Monastery of San Toribio, and afterwards, we are to venerate, and directly touch and kiss the largest piece of the True Cross of Jesus.  It is 25 inches long and it is even bigger than the relic of the True Cross that is preserved in the Vatican's vault.  Shaped in the form of a cross, this sacred relic is a piece of the left branch of the True Cross.  In the top portion of this relic one can clearly see the hole that was formed by the nail that was hammered into the left Hand of Jesus.  In April 2000, a lady in our group regained her vision after touching this holy relic of the True Cross.  We return to Garabandal for supper and overnight stay.

April 12: A full day of peace and tranquility in the midst of the local people.  On our last day in Garabandal, some may want to meditate, make a special retreat and have a holy hour of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament in the small church, and if possible have a private conference with Maria Saraco who was present at the last two apparitions.  This is the time to buy religious souvenirs at the tiny shop next to the church.  The shop is owned and managed by Isidoro and Lucia Somohano, parents of Beltran, our Spanish agent.  Lucia Fernandez-Somohano is Conchita's first cousin, and she is with Conchita in a photograph on page 211 and she is in another photograph on page 207 of the book, Garabandal, The Village Speaks.  She gladly autographs these photos at your request.

April 13: Morning transfer to Bilbao Airport for our return flight home.

In April 2000, a lady in our group regains her vision after having kissed the biggest  relic in the world of the True Cross (25) of Jesus Christ which is preserved in San Toribio, Spain.

GREECE AND TURKEY
RETRACING THE FOOTSTEPS OF SAINT PAUL
MAY 1, 2002-MAY 11, 2002

FULL ITINERARY:

May 2
Morning arrival in Athens.  Transfer to hotel in Athens.  Free time.

May 3
ATHENS.  Half-day sight-seeing tour of Athens.  We climb the marble-capped Acropolis and visit the famous Parthenon and the Erechtheum.  Then we proceed to nearby Mars Hill (Areopagus, Acts 17: 22) where the Apostle Saint Paul delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic, and learning. Our tour continues with the highlights of modern Athens: the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Academy, the University and the National Library.  Time for leisure.  Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Athens.

May 4
ATHENS, DELPHI, KALAMBAKA.  After breakfast, we depart Athens by bus, drive through the fertile plain of Boeotia, cross the towns of Thebes associated with the tragedy of King Oedipus, and pass the towns of Livadia and Arachova, famous for their colourful woolen rugs and carpets.  We arrive at Delphi,  the center of the Ancient world, the omphalos (navel) of the earth whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. On the slopes of Mt. Parnassos, in a landscape of unparalleled natural beauty and majesty, lies the archaeological site of Delphi.  We visit the archaeological site and the museum and continue towards Kalambaka, passing through the towns of Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala.  Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Kalambaka

May 5
METEORA, BEREA, DION, THESSALONIKI.  This morning, we enjoy a spectacular drive up to Meteora where the fantastic and breathtaking Byzantine monasteries are perched on top of huge reddish-gray pillars.  Monks seeking isolation and spiritual salvation first built those monasteries in the 14th Century.  They are veritable Byzantine museums exhibiting superb icons, old manuscripts and unique mosaics and frescoes.  We drive to Berea, where the Apostle Saint Paul after he had arrived, went to the synagogue and there discovered to his pleasant surprise, Jews who were more noble than those he had encountered in Thessalonica.  There we stop to see the Byzantine mosaic in the monument commemorating his preaching.  We continue to Dion and visit the archaeological site.  Early in the evening we arrive in Thessaloniki and proceed to the Old City Walls for a panoramic tour and visit of the Basilicas of Saint Demetrius and Saint Sophia.  We stay overnight.

May 6
THESSALONIKI, PHILIPPI, KAVALA.  After breakfast, we drive from Thessaloniki to Philippi, the site where the Apostle Saint Paul worked and  established a strong church.  It was to this congregation that he later sent his Letter to the Philippians.  Of all the churches Saint Paul founded, probably none was so near and dear to his heart as the church at Philippi (Acts 16: 9-33).  We see the river where Lydia is thought to have been baptized, the ruins of a prison where Saint Paul and Sylas had been imprisoned, the Agora, 5th and 6th century Basilica and the Theater.  Philippi was built by Philip II of Macedonia on the Via Egnatia, the Roman road which runs from Rome to Byzantium. After the visit we continue to Kavala, the ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16: 11).

May 7
KAVALA, ALEXANDROUPOLIS, CANAKKALE.  We depart from Kavala, pass through Thrace and arrive at the Greek-Turkish border.  After clearing customs, we cross the border and drive to Gallipoli to see the famous World War I sites, and then we drive through the waterway of Asia and tour the legendary walls, buildings and the famous wooden horse of Troy.  Dinner and overnight stay at Canakkale Hotel.

May 8
CANAKKALE, TROY, PERGAMUM, SMYRNA.  Today, we tour Troy, which was visited by Saint Paul on one of his journeys.  Then we proceed to Pergamum to see its ancient medical center, we ascend the Acropolis to see the temples of Zeus & Athena, and continue on to Izmir for dinner and overnight stay.

May 9
IZMIR, SARDIS, PHILADELPHIA, LAODICEA, HIERAPOLIS (PAMUKKALA).  After breakfast, we depart for Sardis to visit the beautiful gymnasium and marble-paved synagogue.  We proceed to Philadelphia, the favorite city of  Saint Paul and Saint John.  Afterwards, we drive to Pamukkale to visit the white lime cascades of the Roman spa, Hierapolis.  We are going to see churches and the baths.  Dinner and overnight stay at Pamukkal Hotel.

May 10
PAMUKKALE, EPHESUS, IZMIR, ISTANBUL.  This morning, we cross the Menderes valley, go to Ephesus, home of Saint Paul between 54 & 57 AD.  On a wooded hilltop nearby, we visit the home of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Afterwards, we drive to Izmir and after the tour of Izmir, we proceed to the airport to catch our 6:55 P.M. flight to Istanbul.  We spend the night in Istanbul.

May 11
We depart from Istanbul.  After breakfast, we transfer from Hotel to Istanbul Airport.

KNOCK AND OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE HOUSE OF PRAYER
MAY 14, 2002-MAY 21, 2002

FULL ITINERARY
:

May 14
: Depart from your airport

May 15
: Arrival at Shannon Airport.  Check in at Shannons Great Southern Hotel (directly across the street from Shannon Airport).  Tour of Bunratty Castle and Bunratty Folk Park which is only 15 minutes away.

May 16
: Early in the morning we transfer to Knock House Hotel for overnight stay.  We have plenty of time to stroll the beautiful grounds of the Knock Shrine.  Mass is celebrated in the different chapels at the following times: 8 A.M., 9 A.M., 11 A.M., NOON, 3 P.M., 5 P.M. and 7:30 P.M..  Get a copy of Guide for Pilgrim booklets at the new Basilica.  Knock is the site of the greatest Eucharistic Apparition of all time.  On August 21, 1879, in the pouring rain, 15 people of different ages witness an apparition that lasts 2 hours.  Saint Joseph, Virgin Mary, and Saint John are reverentially standing to the left of an altar while adoring angels surround the LAMB on an altar beneath a huge Cross.  In the new small chapel, statues depict what the 15 people saw during this awesome apparition (the explanation is posted over the entrance).  Behind the new chapel is the old Church where the apparition took place. On the right wall adjacent to the altar a lovely painting shows what the people saw.  In the Reconciliation Chapel, confessions are available many hours during the day.

May 17
: After Mass and breakfast, we depart for Ballintubber Abbey.  Mass has been celebrated at the Abbey every day for over 750 years, because of the courage of Irish priests, some of whom were martyred here.  We are going to have a special tour of the Abbey and we are going to visit the well where St Patrick baptized the pagans.  It was from here that he began his famous walk to Croagh Patrick.

Afterwards, we leave for Attymass and tour the Irish countryside on the way to the new Fr. Patrick Peyton Center.  Father Peyton is the famous Rosary priest who has often said, The family that prays together, stays together.  A very interesting video of Fr. Peytons life and travels (3L adults, 2L seniors) is shown at the center. We are going to have lunch here (5L).
We are going to stop at the grave of Fr. Joseph Foy in Ballina.  Fr. Foy has appeared to Christina Gallagher.  He is known as the alcoholic saint and he has said his grave would be his office.  You may leave your petitions at his grave.  Many prayers have been answered through his intercession.  We continue on to Achill Sound Hotel in County Mayo.  This is going to be our home for the remainder of our stay in Ireland. The only hotel on Achill Island, its approximately a two-city-block walk to Our Lady Queen of Peace House of Prayer.

May 18
: We attend Holy Mass at 8 A.M. in the local church.  We spend all day at the House of Prayer, where there are morning, afternoon and early evening prayers.  The House of Prayer closes at 10 P.M. today.

May 19
: We attend Mass at 9 A.M. in the local church.  Again, we have the entire day to enjoy Our Lady Queen of Peace House of Prayer.  In the afternoon, if Christina is available, she may teach us how to pray the rosary as Our Lady has taught her how to pray it.  (Christina Gallagher has received the miraculous stigmata.)  Today the House of Prayer closes at 6 P.M..

May 20
: In the morning, there is an optional tour to see the cliffs of Achill Island which are the highest cliffs in the world.  We are going to stop at the Beehive for lunch, for incredible desserts, and for shopping. (Tour and lunch are your own expense.)  If you opt out of the tour you can spend time at the House of Prayer to say goodbye to Our Lady, or you can take a leisurely stroll on Island and browse through local shops along the way.  In the afternoon, we depart for Shannon Hotel.

May 21
: Return flight home

MEDJUGORE
JUNE 22, 2002-JULY 1, 2002

FULL ITINERARY
:

In Medjugorje, you may follow the group program or elect to be on your own.  Every day, you have the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the Eucharist and to attend talks (in the language of your choice) about Our Blessed Mothers messages. You can talk with priests, visionaries (with interpreter), and others (Rehab Center), whose lives have changed since Our Lady first came to the Hamlet of Bijakovici.

You are going to visit the tiny village of BIJAKOVICI to meet the visionaries, see their homes, and meditate at the Blue Cross.  Morning climbs to Apparition Hill (Mt. Podbrdo) and Cross Mountain (Mt. Krizevac) are scheduled for our group. Nonetheless, you are free to climb both mountains any day you choose and you are also invited to participate in the local parishioners Friday afternoon climb up Mt. Krizevac and their Sunday afternoon (2:00 P.M. from church) climb up Mt. Podbrdo.

Each evening, we join the parish community of Saint James Church and the other pilgrims in the recitation of the Rosary, the celebration of the Eucharist, and in praying for the sick in the local language.  On Wednesday and Sunday evenings you have the opportunity to attend a Holy Hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and on Friday evenings the Veneration of the Cross.  Dont fail to participate in these very moving devotions.

We are going to visit the Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center.  The residents are going to entertain you and deeply touch you with their heart-wrenching testimonies.  These young men who have come from all over the world, even as far away as Brazil, excavated and built this very colorful stone village.  They also painted the beautiful and unique religious mural icon in the large chapel.  In the religious gift shop you are going to find many religious objects and icons they have made.  Morning or afternoon talks are often held in the yellow building behind Saint James Church.

If Father Jozo Zovko is in Siroki-Brijeg, we organize a half-day trip to the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption to see and hear Father Jozo (USD$10).

An optional full-day trip to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik can also be arranged.  This tourist seaside resort is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic.  The city was founded in the 7th Century and the old walls encircling it date back to the 9th Century.  The trip includes a Mass in the 12th century cathedral, a guided tour of the city, and plenty of free time afterwards (USD$25).

****************************************************************************
A visit to Medjugorje is an experience beyond explanation.  Celebrate with us 21 years of daily apparitions.  Hundreds see visions of Our Blessed Mother during the 20th anniversary celebration in Saint James Church.

Since June 25, 1981 Our Lady Queen of Peace has been appearing to six seers.  To this day, Vicka, Ivan, and Marija still have regular apparitions from Our Lady.  The other three seers have received the tenth secret and they no longer receive daily apparitions from Our Blessed Mother.  Mirjana has apparitions on the 2nd of each month; Ivanka has apparitions on each anniversary date; and Jakov Colo has apparitions every Christmas Day. His last daily apparition was on September 12, 1998.
