

There are Jewish crisis centers and hotlines for girls and for boys, for the ultra-Orthodox, the religious, the non-religious, the unaffiliated, and for mixed groups. They appeal to those who have been attracted by cults or missionaries, or those who lived in dysfunctional families.
Those in need are sometimes abused in various ways.
The following people will therefore be welcomed on the Shandeh group:
Parents and family
- Parents at risk - whose children may be about to do something wrong
- Children or young adults who feel that they have a certain specific problem
- People who are embarrassed when they or a loved one are attracted by cults or missionaries
- People who are abused by Jewish crisis centers or hotlines
- Grandparents of children with problems
- Children who they feel that they might be able to help other children with problems
- Others who have experience or knowledge in helping children at risk
Children
- Shandeh helps children who have already gotten into trouble, and suggests ways to resolve their problems
- Shandeh provides a non-threatening resource for those at risk, but who do not yet need these facilities
- Shandeh helps those who have been attracted to these centers or services
- Shandeh helps people understand the options available in Jewish crisis facilities throughout the world
- Shandeh reports on people�s experiences with those facilities
- Shandeh helps the facilities themselves maintain contact with their client�le
- Shandeh helps people find out about the activities of similar centers elsewhere
Professionals and organizations
- Shandeh welcomes responses from organizations, hotlines, Rabbis or other professionals
- We listen to those who have children with problems
- Parents who feel that they can contribute to those who do have problems
- Psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, or psychotherapists (these professionals are also welcome to join our Jewish Psych group)
- Those who have been attracted by these crisis centers
- Those who care for those who have been attracted
- The loved ones who are left behind
Shandeh also helps those who have joined other types of groups that have provided improper, unprofessional, or unwelcome services.
Shandeh subscribers relate to and deal with their feelings of loss, inadequacy, helplessness, sorrow, frustration, or anger.
Shandeh also serves as a support group for people facing these problems and issues.
