    		•     Xander is the Seer for the Slayers in Cleveland fifteen years after the events in NFA. Willow's spell to keep headaches and degredation of the brain from the visions at bay fails and Willow does a new spell. Suddenly, Xander is starting to see a long-dead Spike everywhere. I like the way the relationship with Spike is developed. I particularly liked the way that Spike's character came out considering that Spike is no longer a vampire.

    		•     Xander discovers, the hard way, that Drusilla can Turn people wrong when she wants to. After the Sunnydale folks fail to do anything helpful, like stake him, he decides to try suicide by Angel. Deadboy never does things the way he's supposed to. It's kind of obvious that she got bored with it a little past halfway through. The ending was a little more rushed than expected from this particular writer.

    		•     Spike finds a completely broken Xander for sale at a slave auction run by demons. Spike buys him and takes him home. Then the hard part begins. Later, Xander has to face his past at the hands of demons and the consequences that come with it. The story takes its time with both plot and character. The writing is so well done that it's impossible to notice the abused sex slave Xander rescuer hero Spike cliched plot. This is how it's done. Tissues are a must.

    		•     The Initiative finds Xander and his Primal interesting, but not as interesting as he when they dump Hostile 17, Spike, in the cage with him. Excellent first person writing. I loved how I could clearly see the non-"I" characters without "I" knowing things he shouldn't or through annoying author editorials.

    		•     The love spell Spike wanted from Willow to get back his Dark Princess from the chaos demon exploded when it wasn't supposed to and turned Xander into a girl. An annoyed Spike takes Xander hostage until Willow fixes it, then decides that girl Xander is quite the nummy treat. Amusing and well written. This writer can seriously work the suspension of disbelief mojo.

    		•     A spell makes Xander think he's been turned into an ancient vampire and he immediately begins setting himself up as the Master of the Hellmouth. Angel and Spike either submit to the "vampire" or hurt Xander. Later, a depressed and newly chipped Spike could really use a Sire. Attention to character and plot development make the spell-gone-awry plot device into something compelling.

    		•     While on a Scooby mission, Spike and Xander Bonded, with a capital B. They expect Angel to fix it, dammit, and right bloody now. There is a slight problem, though. The humor relies on character personality to bring it out rather than on punchlines, though there are plenty of those. Not fall on the floor, laughing, but chuckle-worthy all the same.

    		•    There's a new type of demon preying on the locals and it's tied in to a rash of suicides. Apparently, this demon has something to do with Xander's past. The writing is nicely done, but I kept getting a teeny bit of Xander-Sue wiggins here and there. A little on the downside: it's on ff.net.

    		•     Xander, Buffy, and Willow get mojoed and switch bodies a few months after Buffy comes back from the dead. Xander, in Buffy's body, gets the opportunity to meet the softer side of Spike. A well written story, though the song lyrics in the resolution were not fun. I got emotional and everything. It's on Livejournal, but two important things are happening: one, the journal style is gentle enough for lengthy reading and, more importantly, two, the writer(s) were wonderful enough to put a link to the next chapter at the bottom of each post. No navigational difficulties. The plus of LJ: leaving commentary is easy.

    		•    After a few months in Africa where guerillas, poverty, and disease kills more people than the supernatural, Xander takes a break. He gets a call from Andrew and finds out that Spike is alive and that Cordy is in a coma. The hostility between the new Watchers Council and Angel's Wolfram & Hart office is palpable. Xander heads to LA for Spike and to see Cordy. It's hard to pick a best part. The realism? Africa is real in this narrative, not just a setting. Andrew is wonderfully done, he has depth! Xander is in character and Spike is as great as always. Cordy, of course, always rocks.

    		•    Graham Miller has such a crush on Xander. He finally takes a chance after the Initiative falls. It's a neat-o burrito get together story, but the POV changes and poetics hanging out in the middle were ultimately skim-worthy.

    		•     Angel may have found his moment of true happiness with Buffy, but Angelus wants Xander when he's first freed in BTVS season 2 and then again five years later. This is one of the few "evil vampire falls in love" stories that didn't bring out a "yeah, right" eye roll. Angelus is perfectly Angelus and Angel is distinctly Angel. More importantly, the development of Xander sold me.

    		•     A new Master Vampire is in town, trying to take over the world with Odin's Tear. Before Xander can get to the Scoobies and tell them about it, he's attacked and Angel is forced to Turn him so he can tell his tale. In addition to the apocolypse prone nature of the Hellmouth, Xander has to deal with being a vampire, his love for Angel, and the altered relationships with his friends. The ending in the first was thoroughly predictable, not that you usually can't see the ending in any action oriented Buffy story, but the build-up was rather nice.
