| The definition of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC), is the method of extracting energy form the oceans that depends on the temperature diiference between surface water and water at depth. There are 2 different types of OTEC, one is closed cycle and the other open cycle. The closed cycle uses a contained working fluid with a low boiling point. Open cycle directly converts seawater into steam. |
