About 45 minutes West of Olympia, WA, on the shores of Puget Sound, was this quaint little cabin.  The views were amazing, the building was charming, the mood was perfect, and the surprises seemed to be endless for Jeanie!

In the main living area, they had provided a second bed situated right next to the wood stove.  The heat had not been on in a while, so the bed by the fire seemed to be a good idea.

It was a good idea, until the second night, when we slept in the main bed...pure heaven!!  Feather bed, down comforter, soft pillows...I would have stolen the bed if we'd had room for it!

The scene of the crime.  This ledge sits about 100 feet over Puget Sound, and had some amazing views of the area.  We were fortunate to have the rain subside for us for the weekend.  In the Northwest, that is a very lucky event!!

The stairs of death!!!  After your 3rd trip up and down these, your legs were like jello!!  While they dont look like much in this picture, these are maybe only half of the stairs.  But anyway...the story.  Jeanie and I had been under a lot of stress, and decided to get away for a weekend.  I booked the Mio Amore (the cabin), and made all the plans.  Our first night we just watched a movie, ate some dinner, had some drinks, and soaked in the biggest bath-tub I have ever seen in my life!  Saturday morning came and we had a big breakfast, followed by a walk down along Puget Sound, and of course, swimming for Ally!

After a long walk, we returned to the cabin to see about renting a sea kayak (no luck).  We ended up spending the afternoon playing cards, talking, laughing, and just enjoying each others company.

(view from the ledge)  Around 4:30, I knew it was time.  We went out on the ledge to soak in the views.  I ran inside and came out with a wrapped box for Jeanie.  She opened up two hand blown Romanian champagne glasses, after which I went back in and got the champagne and ring!

I explained that the glasses were to help us toast our new jobs, and our lives together.  We opened the champagne, poured the glasses, and....

Ok...this picture is waaaay out of sequence, but its cute!  During an afternoon swim, Ally started rooting her head around  under the water.  When we emerged, this is what she had...a cluster of about 3 oysters!!!  Yes, she really will try to eat anything!

Oh yeah...anyway...Jeanie commented that she didn't know what to say to all of this, that it was perfect.  To which I replied "I don't know what to say either...except that I love you, I absolutely adore you, and want to spend the rest of my life with you.  Will you marry me?"  The answer, obviously, was "Yes!".
