His entrepreneurial accomplishments included founding United Mail and Business Center and Tri Tech Sports, Inc. where he invented and patented the "Bike Buddy". His other notable accomplishments included participating in triathlons and running races where he received numerous awards. He also was an avid photographer and received an award for outstanding amateur photographer. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, computers, and snow skiing.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Compton; his children, sons, Bob Jr. and wife Beth, Jeff from Dallas, Cody of San Antonio, daughter Caity and his unborn daughter due in November, both of San Antonio; mother Katherine Williams of Richmond, VA; father, Larry Williams of Stone Mountain, GA; sister Teresa Ratteree, husband Jim; and nephews, Mike and Chris, all of Stone Mountain, GA; mother-in-law Paulita Compton; father-in-law, Roger Compton; and sister-in-law, Marie Compton, all of Dallas, and sister-in-law, Laura Compton of Richmond, CA.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 1996, at 3:00P.M. at Colonial Hills Methodist Church, reception following at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Bob Williams to The American Cancer Society, Colonial Hills Methodist Church or to the Memorial Fund of Robert F. Williams, c/o Frost National Bank, Attn: Bonnie Macpherson, Colonial Office. The family wishes to thank Colonial Hills Methodist Church, Methodist Hospital staff, Dr. Greg Guzley and Beverly, and all of Bob’s close friends who showed their support and love for him.
