| Concert Dress |
| High School Orchestra- Concert Blacks Girls - All black dresses, or black top and formal black skirt/ black dress pants, black hose, and black dress shoes. Neck lines need to be conservative. Spaghetti strap tops must be covered by an over-shirt. Shirts/Tops must meet the top of the skirt or pants. No middles showing please. Skirts must be knee length or longer. Remember, you are "up on stage." Hair needs to be neatly brushed/combed. Guys - Black dress shirts, black dress pants, black ties, black socks, black dress shoes. A white shirt may be worn only with a black jacket. Hair needs to be neatly brushed/combed. Chamber Ensemble - Girls- Black formal dress or formal skirt & top, black hose, and black dress shoes (no chunky/clunky footwear ie. combat boots). Guys- Tuxedo (provided), tuxedo shirt(provided), black bow tie, black socks, black dress shoes, suspenders if needed Middle School - This year, in keeping with the rest of the Middle School Music Department, we will be wearing the new "Middle School Music Department" t-shirt. The new shirts are to be worn with kaiki pants. Nice shoes and socks. Hair needs to be neatly brushed/combed. Beginning/Elementary - Your Sunday best! Skirts must be knee length or longer. | Part of the success of the Orchestra is based on the first impression the performers make on the audience when the lights come up and Ms. Nielsen taps her baton for attention. "I have seen a large and growing number of students really dressing up for concerts, which I think is a reflection on their achievements," says Ms. Nielsen. Every student can help the orchestra look even better by coming to performances properly dressed. "We do not have a specific uniform, just as is the case with a professional orchestra," she says. She suggests students ( and parents who help decide what they should wear) consider the following guidelines: |
