History
of Orangewood Townhouse Park
Orangewood Townhouse Park is a
townhouse complex located at 47th Avenue and Orangewood in
Glendale, Arizona 85301.
In 1971, this area was farm land in what was then far
north Glendale. Here and there, one can still see the
older farmhouses that predated the tremendous expansion of
the city which occurred in the 1970s and 1980s.
Today, Orangewood Townhouse Park is in the southern
part of Glendale.
The land on which the complex stands was purchased in 1972
by Stewart Title and Trust Company of Phoenix for the
purpose of building a townhouse complex to be called
Orangewood Townhouse Park.
Eighteen fourplexes were eventually constructed (92
two-story units) with occupancy beginning in 1980.
