About Operation Santa Claus

Operation Santa Claus, or 'Pat Claus' as the call me, is an idea I came up with in 1994 of starting some kind of fund raiser to purchase and distribute toys, food, clothing, and other essentials to underprivileged children during the Christmas holiday season.
Personally, there's nothing more gratifying than seeing a child smile when handed a toy of any kind,
whether it be a small rubber ball or a poster of their favorite idol.

In 1988 I started dressing up as Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer during the Christmas season and would visit the children of relatives and friends and various children wards in the local area hospitals to distribute candy filled stockings and gifts. I loved doing this because it made children so happy. I would do tap dances and sing Christmas songs, of course 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer' was the opener and most popular of the songs. I enjoyed it so much that I would give stockings to children on the streets, providing their parents would approve, although I still warn children about the dangers of taking candy from
STRANGERS!!!

My greatest performance was for a friend and his family's huge gathering on the Zuni Indian Reservation in western New Mexico. There were so many happy children and adults that it was the greatest feeling in the world to me. I did this for several years until I relocated to an area where the costume was no longer available, but each Christmas, I still distribute stockings nd gifts to any child I am financially able. My wife and I purchased all the stockings and in some cases small gifts during my Rudolph years. Some parents would give me extra presents to distribute to their children as I appeared. Seeing these children so happy, inspired me to write several Christmas poems to which you are welcome to VIEW.

I started making plans for Operation Santa Claus in 1994, but as a "Transportologist" (truck driver) by trade and being on the road as much as I was, the process was slow in developing, and as a result of an accident I had in 1995, the idea was put on hold until recently (Pat Claus in Person). My generous deeds to children weren't just focused on the Christmas holiday. I am the type of person that hates to be in a store and see any child crying and so hurt for something they really want. I'd usually ask the parent(s) if I could buy the item for the child. Most would be grateful and allow me this privilege, but others would be offended or suspicious of my approach and true intentions, which I can certainly understand.

I have been around and seen all types of child-oriented carelessness, and it hurts. Our children are our future. Maybe the difference between a child growing up responsible or irresponsible, respectable or disrespectable, depends on a kind gesture made by not necessarily a stranger, but rather a caring soul from when they were just a child. Children have great memories and I will always do my part to see that any child grows up to have cherished memories rather than sad or regretful ones.

Operation Santa Claus is only just beginning. I can only hope that it prospers enough to serve its purpose in providing a gift, meal, or some other type of special need service for a less fortunate child during the spirited Christmas season. Services rendered from Operation Santa Claus can only be accomplished through public donations. All donations can be mailed to me where I will deposit them into a special "No More Tears" bank account. All 100% of the proceeds will go towards the purchase for the special needs of children during the holiday season. The services are not just limited to the local children in my area, but throughout the state depending on donation abundance.

Details as to how the services are to be distributed are still in the organizational stages and can only be arranged as Operation Santa Claus develops. Legal records of all transactions associated with Operation Santa Clause will be administered at all times. I am not asking for $25, $50, $100 donations, only what you can afford. A $1 donation or even some loose change lying on the dresser will help bring a 'HUGE' smile to a deserving child's face during the Christmas holiday season.

For any donations received, a receipt for that donanation will be mailed back to you for miscellaneous purposes.

As a positive sign to show how distribution of the funds will be handled and only as an example, if Operation Santa Claus collected $1000 dollars in donations, the total amount of $1000 dollars would be spent on various types of toys to be distributed at an 'advertised' location within an allotted time period prior to and up to the eve of December 24th. Services would also include special arrangements for the delivery of gifts to children hospitalized or in orphaned institutes. As you can see, the example donation amount would indeed benefit several needful situations,
and at least make the children in those instances very happy.

I am totally committed to seeing Operation Santa Claus become a success.
My personal gain from the operation is the happiness of the children.
