What is Open
Door Music?
Open Door
Music is a unique and stimulating music program for children aged 4 months
through 4 years of age. This music school is located at Binkley United
Church, 1570 Main St. West in Hamilton, Ontario.
Martha Krueger, Creative Director, integrates her own musical knowledge with
her training in childhood development and teaching. She has an endless love
for children, which is what led her to create Open Door Music. Martha has 5
years of Post-Secondary education in psychology and education, and has
studied Music in Early Childhood and Dalcroze Eurythmics at the Royal
Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She previously taught for the Gymboree
play program in Hamilton for 6 years.
Open Door Music focuses on exposure, exploration and the enjoyment of music.
Along with developing a child's music skills, it fosters creativity, confidence,
and language development. It provides parents and children with music
and songs that can also be done at home. One of its' goals is to cultivate
an early love of music that will follow children throughout their lives and provide a basis for future music
lessons.
The program is divided into the following class levels:
* Shake Your Bootie
(4 months to walking)
*
Movers & Shakers (walking to age 2)
*
Big Notes (2 years)
*
