Open Door Music

The following are pictures taken from class, as well as thoughts from some of the parents of children participating in our classes.

"At first it was hard for me to tell if my 22 month old son was really enjoying the summer class because he clung to me alot due to shyness. After 3 classes he said to me 'applesauce, cool breeze'. I realized that he was repeating the words to one of the songs we sang in class. When I sang the song to him, he got excited and sang it with me. He also started moving his shoulder up and down when he hears music.
Since we have started the fall class, he has continued to sing and dance more at home. He even dances and sings in stores if he likes the music. Not only is he enjoying music when he hears it, he often sings songs on his own. I feel that is a wonderful achievement at age 2."

"Open Door Music has awakened a love of music within my
son. Since we began participating in this wonderful
program, Luke sings, dances, hums and leads
sing-a-longs many times throughout each day.
Sometimes during class, he will just stare at Martha
in wonder, never taking his eyes from her. He is
enchanted by all he sees, hears and experiences each
week and often sings much-loved favourite songs all
the way home. We BOTH enjoy every moment we spend
with Martha and everyone at Open Door Music."

"Our 18 month old daughter loves Open Door Music. The classes are a highlight of our week. We've learned fun songs to sing together at play time and bath time. Martha is definitely one of her favourite people.
Although she may seem shy to some people, we have noticed a big change in her attitude toward people outside our family. Part of this increased confidence has been from her time in the fun-filled and friendly environment of Open Door Music."
