[01d01] Do Humans Really Exist?

When the game fades in, you will be free to roam. However, when you get to the dock, you will note an unconscious figure. You bring him inside to a bed, automatically, and soon Kirkis, the Elf, wakes up. He asks you to save his forest home, and you are given a choice:

*Of course.
{Try to agree}
*But...
{Try to show that you may not have enough people yet}

Mathiu agrees that you should send a recon group consisting of you, Gremio, Kirkis and three members of your choice. Leave and go to Kaku by boat, then head Southeast to the Great Forest Village, Human-side [05a11]. Go into the forest. Since you now have Kirkis with you, it will not be a continuing loop (as it was before, if you'd tried it). You get halfway and encounter a woman on the log bridge. Though it may be possible to avoid recruiting her, it is advisable. Not only will it get you another star, but Viki is a teleporter who can send you any place you've already visited once, which comes in valuable.

Continue into the empty Kobold-side of the Great Forest Village, and watch Kuromimi pass through talking to himself. Head out of town and Southeast to the Village of the Elves [05a13]. When you get into the village, up a tree, Valeria will have a confrontation with the Elves, then be arrested. You, too, will be arrested. After speaking with Valeria, then moving to the East bars of the cell, Sylvina will show up and talk with Kirkis. Afterwards, she'll release you and Kirkis suggests checking out the Village of the Dwarves to the Northeast. You are given a choice:

*I agree.
{Agree to see the Dwarves}
*Let's go back to the castle first.
{Try to wait, and get told to go anyway}

Valeria joins you and you can start for the Village of the Dwarves.

[01d02] Running Water Root

The Dwarf Trail [05b15] is Northeast from the Elf's Tree. To get to some of the chests, you need to work your way among the trees. Once at the mountain path, you will meet Kuromimi who again talks to himself. He leaves you there and continues on his journey. You will eventually reach the World Map.

Northeast is the Village of the Dwarves [05a15]. You are free to roam around. The windmill does not have any special effects, though you can always go over to it if you feel like it. In the Northeast part of the town is a large building where the Chief lives. He doesn't believe you at first and decides to give you a test... to break into the Dwarven Vault [05b17] and stealing the Running Water Root. You get a choice:

*Let's give it a try.
{Agree to the test}
Better not try.{Refuse the test as the game comes to a stand still}

The Darven Vault is directly North. Once you get there, convince the Dwarf Guard to let you in and follow the hallways. Soon you should reach a room with a series of levers. To get through, you need to flip the three levers int he right order: Center, East, West. After stairs and a mini-maze, you will come to a puzzle room with shifting floors. You need to take the right platforms to get to the chest and to the end. Chest: the next-to-West. End of room: East, then 'bottom'. You go through another mini-maze and end up in front of a door with buttons in front on the floor. In order to open the door, you need to hit the buttons in the right sequence: West, East, East, West, West, West, East, East.

As there is no heal point or save point before the boss, you may wish to consider leaving to heal and save after raiding the chests, then returning, but the option is yours.

The end of the hallways leads to the Gigantes Boss [03c].

The Running Water Root is in the room behind the Boss, after you defeat him. Bring the treasure to the Dwarven Chief and he will believe you, starting construction of the Firewind Cannon. The next thing to do is to return to the Elves.

[01d03] The Burning Mirror

On the way down the Dwarven Trail, you will see the Forest burning, and the Tree burning. At the Burnt Village of the Elves [05a14] you will see a small scene play out then be permitted to leave to go Northwest to the Kobold Village. If you re-enter the village immediately, Templeton the Map Maker will be there. He is an optional recruit, but needed for the final bonus if you want all 108 stars.

When you've returned to the Kobold Village, Imperials Soldiers will be there, waiting to capture Valeria. She offers to turn herself in for your safety, to which you have a choice:

*Stop it, Valeria.
{Valeria explains duty and goes anyway}
*I'm sorry, Valeria.
{Accept her sacrifice and watch her leave}

The Imperials have lied and attack your party. Kuromimi jumps into your party to help out. When you win, Gremio will state that he thinks you're losing and Mathiu will show up with the rest of the Rebels, chasing off the Imerials. Mathiu suggests that you attack Kwanda Rosman, to which you get a choice:

*All right, all troops forward.
{Agree to attack}
*It's not time yet.
{Mathiu lectures you and you attack anyway}

You will be thrown into Strategy Battle: Pannu Yakuta Castle [053f]: Kwanda: 9,000 vs. Tir: 7,105.

After you beat him, Kwanda will return to Pannu Yakuta [05b18] and try to use his secret weapon, the Burning Mirror (which destroyed the Elves). The Chief of the Dwarves uses his Firewind Cannon and destroy the mirror. You can then enter the castle to hunt for Kwanda Rosman. Unfortunately, in some eyes, the party you take is automatically Gremio, Viktor, Kirkis, Kuromimi, and Valeria. This cannot be changed. The room on the right is a healing point. (Saving requires going to the Burnt Village of the Elves, or such.)

In the upstairs room with the throne, there will be the Dragon Boss [03c]. After you defeat him, you may wish to recover.

You can continue up the stairs onto the roof. You will now face a Duel with Kwanda Rosman [03e].

Upon winning, Kirkis and Kuromimi demand satisfaction by killing him. You are given a choice:

Vengeance! Your time is up!{You will kill him, and lose your bonus for 108 stars}
*!*Something's wrong.
{Hesitate in killing him}

If he's still alive, he will talk about a Black Rune, Windy, and such. He'll beg you to let him die like a soldier, and you are given a choice:

You're right.{You will kill him, and lose your bonus for 108 stars}
*!*I want you to join us.
{Spare him and Recruit him}

Mathiu will come foreward at this point. You will automatically get a chance to have Stallion and Sylvina join you, as well as Valeria, Kuromimi, and Kirkis. Mathiu wants to return to the castle, and you are given a choice:

*
{Return to the castle}
*
{Stay behind and collect other recruits, etc}

At this point the Great Forest Village, Kobold-side [05a12] has opened up with stores, etc. Once done wandering around recruiting others and such, you can head back to the castle (or you can have gone there with Mathiu).
