A Message from the
Principal
Mr Peter Foo Chee Hui
A
warm welcome to our homepage!
St
Thomas's Secondary School maintained its pride to be the oldest school
in Sarawak. It was founded 150 years ago by a group of missionaries
led by a priest-doctor, Francis Thomas McDougall. The seed was sowed in
August, 1848 when the Day School for boys was opened. St
Thomas's Secondary School was tested and she stood firm through the early
years, Japanese Occupation Era and Post War Years. Now, we can look back
and count the many blessings which would not have been realized if not for
the endurance and love of our forefathers. Today,
we are proud of who we are. We excel in many areas. For example, our old
boys had and have become successful people in our society, holding high
offices in both public and private sectors. These bear testimony of the
vision of our founding fathers, that is providing a balanced education to
boys (and later girls) of every race and creed, far and near. As
the touch bearer of the school today, we seek for continuous improvement,
leading the school to even greater heights. Our aim shall always be the
same, AIM HIGHER. Thanks
to the advancement in computer technology. Instead of coming to Kuching,
this website will bring you around our school at the comfort of your own
environment. I hope this will bring you closer to us. Enjoy
the tour for we are proud to be Thomians!
