FAQs

Just in case you were wondering.

  1. Why dedicate a website for a newspaper?

  2. After years of suffering with their printed version, they actually put up an online version that's almost as bad as the paper version. Extremely low standards of journalism, based on sensationalism and made up stories passing off as a legitimate operation. This is true of many newspapers but Okaz really has it down to an art form.

  3. You only include about one article per day, does this mean the rest is of the paper is "normal"?

  4. Sometimes it's extremely difficult to choose only one article, the paper is literally overflowing with Okazisms. I try to choose only a single representative article each day to preserve the sanity of the reader.

  5. Why aren't the comments in Arabic, after all it's an Arabic newspaper?

  6. I don't have an Arabic keyboard, and I really don't feel like it.

  7. Why dont the article links work?

  8. Blame it on the genius workforce at Okaz's IT department. If their archives are down, my links wont work.
Good news okazi-fans! Those sneeky okazi-geeks switched the archives to a different folder and hid them from the main page. But I found them!
If someone can locate the Elaph archives please let me know.

  9. Where are the 2005 articles?

  10. Better question is where *I* was in 2005!

Okazisms!

So what is this all about?

This site is a tribute to the greatest newspaper in the world. Without its informative journalism and award-winning literary style I don't know where we would be today.
