Pooka

Shapechanging tricksters (SH).

- Court: Seelie

- Birthrights: - Frailties: Lies: As written; pookas must spend a Willpower trait to tell the whole truth. + free Untrustworthy trait.

- Immunity: Pookas get a free retest against any attempt, magical or mundane, to get them to tell the truth or to admit to a lie. (This includes situations such as Aura Reading where subjects do not actively resist.)

- Bans: Never change shape in front of witnesses; [and one of player choice].

- Weakness: Cold Iron.

- Binding: A pooka in animal form put in a cage with Cold Iron bars is effectively a mundane animal until freed. Animals able to wear collars may be similarly bound with a Cold Iron collar and a Physical "staking" challenge. (Note that when such a collar is successfully applied, the pooka, now mundane, is not harmed by the iron in it.)

- Regaining Mana: Harvesting, Reverie, Rapture.

- Preferred Disciplines: Animalism OR Presence, Chimerstry OR Dementation, Protean

- Origin: Many Earthly pookas lived for centuries as humans or in animal form, perhaps victims of the Forgetting, or were born in this century; either way, it is likely that they have only recently (re)discovered their fae nature. Those that did remember themselves are more likely to have discovered Dreamers (Herd), thanks to their Confidant Birthright.

- Appearance: Pookas appear either as "cute" humans with recognizably animalistic features (for example: ears, eyes, tail, fur, etc.) or as anthropomorphized animals (this, too, is more likely to be "six foot bunny in a waistcoat" than "slavering wolf-man"). Usually it is difficult for them to pass as human without the Seeming Background.
