Suggestions:
Here are suggestions for Bans; you may invent your own drawing on folklore or your own imagination. While Bans can be invoked by other supernatural creatures, the guiding purpose of a Ban is to grant some means by which mortals can protect themselves from or gain power over the immortal in question.
- may not stay in human Seeming under certain conditions (in addition to the usual): in the moonlight, when wet, in the presence of certain herbs, etc.
- repelled by holy symbols
- repulsed by garlic or some other herb, plant, or vegetable
- may not enter a dwelling uninvited
- cannot resist counting
- never swear an oath
- never trust someone who does not swear an oath
- never refuse hospitality
- never eat a certain kind of food
- never drink a certain kind of drink
- cannot enter a category of place [holy ground, natural bodies of water, blacksmith's shops, mortal places of business, entrances protected by horseshoes]
- never refuse to answer a question honestly
- never accept gratitude
- never wear a kind or color of clothing
- never attack and/or use powers on someone wearing a certain kind or color of clothing
- cannot look at own reflection
- cannot cross running water
- "prey exclusion" (cannot attack and/or regain Glamour from a certain category of mortal)
