[OH SNAP! NUMBER ONE]

everysmithever.  "honest" demo-ep.

Recorded January 24, 2003.

i do believe this was recorded like the day after i got my minidisc recorder, before i even had a decent mic, but chris was anxious to fo his thing. yeah, so the quality isn't all that great, but it all goes with the whole theme of the album: honesty. one track for vocals and guitar, all done live. no fancy anything. barebones as fuck. yeah,k you get the idea, basically, i set up chris in my mom's room (heh, yeah, the room had a desk to put the mic on, so it sufficed.) with the recorder and gave him my guitar to use, and he just did his shit. i stuck it all on the computer and we recorded some background noise to use as an intro (chris making soup, haha, good times).

now for the important part: the music on this piece is the acoustic semi-poppy emo kinda thing, although it varies a lot throughout the ep. a couple of the songs are a bit dashboard-esque, but in general it doesn't really sound like anything else. in chris' releases since
honest he's gotten further an further away from this rather cliched genre, maiking his sound more and more his own. if you feel too guilty to listen to all that MTV dashboard-y radio "emo," give this EP a listen, 'cause it's like better and more sincere or something.

ON THIS RECORDING:

everysmithever is chris moulton (guitar/vocals), no more no less.
