| [OH SNAP! NUMBER FIVE] everysmithever. "Bedrooms & Igloos" ep. All tracks recorded the winter of 2003/2004, except track 6, recorded August, 2003. Released January 2004. six tracks of pure acoustic goodness. mix one part jeff buckley with, one part high-singy-emo-ness with one part who knows what, and wow. the best ESE material yet, both in its fancy production quality and fine-tuned performance, not to mention some of his best songs to date. passionate and powerful, this ep even manages to capture a taste of ESE's live intensity. the first five tracks were recorded and produced by friend mike beaudoin in scarborough, and the last track was from a small recording session i did with chris over the summer. two of these songs appear on chris' demo-lp, "sleep," and have been redone all fancy-like. the new version of old favorite "tin throat" is sure to please the kids. although this whole record is sure to make those kids' jaws drop to the floor, so maybe that's not so important. although i still really like some of chris' old songs not represented on this here ep, hot damn, this shit blows them out of the water. |
