news and stuff:

[Feb. 21]

the new EP bedrooms and igloos is out, and it's fucking better than good. go download that shit if you haven't heard it yet, cause, wow. also, chris has been playing
some local shows with midriff, so see him if you can; he really doesn't play out too often. you can probably get a copy of the new cd from him for free or something too. he wanted to make the packaging simple so he wouldn't have to charge for them, so it's in a cool-looking-but-cheap wrapped paper deal. yeah, so just go to a damn show.

bio:

chris and his acoustic. pretty and pretty threatening at the same time. singing so full of emotion it's like he's screaming, and screaming so melodic-ly it's like he's singing. sorry, that almost made sense, but i'm sure you get what i mean. it may be the whole "acoustic emo solo project thing," but over time everysmithever has gone beyond all those dashboard-esque clones and created something heartfelt and original. his sound is constantly evolving, while never losing the signature ESE sound. no one song can define this kid. definately try to see him live if you at all like him recorded, because his live intensity has not yet been matched by any recording.

this kid plays guitar and sings, and it's pretty and sometimes it makes people cry. we should make a list of people who either cried or felt they had to stop themselves from crying when they first saw chris rockin' the ESE live. i know i'd sure be on it, as would one mister shawn huber! i first heard chris perform as everysmithever at the first ms. oneil poetry night (the second of which hosted dfa's first show ever). he played "tin throat," which was pretty much his hit song among the scarborough crew (even though he totally has better ones), and really let his heart out playing it, and everyone in the room was just like, "fuck, i'm so gonna cry now." it was just such a sudden burst of emotion. i mean, you're sitting there in a highschool classroom listening to a bunch of kids tell some poems in a monotone unpassioned voice, and then the quiet ease of the atmosphere is shattered. while chris recorded is damn good, the lucky few who have seen, or perhaps, experienced, his live performance complain about it not doing it for them. yeah, go see this kid if you ever have the opportunity. when he really play's his heart out it's really something to experience, and he's like the fucking king of improvising lyrics, weaving jokes about his friends in and out of the song more fluidly than i could ever dream of being able to do. this kid could probably win a freestyle rap competition if he wanted to.
