Here you will find guild policies concerning alliances, guests, inactivity, and conflict.
Alliances

Alliances which are beneficial to the individual or the guild are encouraged.  This includes friendships outside the guild.

One of the greatest alliances is when individuals join our guild.  Do not take these events lightly.  Be welcoming.

When allied with other individuals or groups, within our guild or outside it, Children of Eternity's principles apply, whether or not their ideals differ from our own.  This means respect!  Treat allies outside the guild as if they were a part of the guild.

We do not form guild alliances, but do run and RP with other guilds.

Guests

The "Honorary" rank has been created for "honorary" guests of our guild.  This rank is for non-initiates and/or members who do not wish to actively achieve higher status in the guild, or guests who are only visiting our guild.  Honoraries are not expected to attend guild events or activities, but are expected to uphold Children of Eternity's ideals, principles, and policies.

((Any new member of the guild who is not an alt of an existing member will be promoted from Honorary to Scion after completing the necessary requirements.   It is suggested that guild members choose one main character to rank up in the guild and any other character of that player who wishes to join the guild remain as a guest (aka Honorary).))

Inactivity

In order to prevent having several inactive and/or non-participating members, we have the following policy on participation and inactivity.

If you are inactive for a whole month, you will be removed from the guild.  You may be reinstated in the guild after your return from inactivity if you request it.

Those who plan to be inactive and plan on returning may let Children of Eternity know beforehand to be allowed to stay in the guild despite their inactivity.  (This is not indefinite.)  Those who do so shall be demoted to Honorary after a month, but will be reinstated to Scion after their return.

This policy will help to us to better represent our guild to newcomers.

Conflict

In order to maintain balance and positive relations within the guild, it is occassionally necessary to resolve important conflicts.  When this situation arises, it should be dealt with expediently in order to avoid further conflict.

Examples of these situations include:  when an ideal or principle of the guild is called into question; when members of the guild disagree on how an action should be taken or have a difference which can not be resolved; or when a member violates the guild principles, ideals or policies in such a way that it is not grounds for immediate dismissal.

When it is necessary for the entire guild (as opposed to the guild leader or officers) to take action to resolve a conflict, a guild meeting will be called or a trial will be held, depending on the severity of the situation.  When these events are necessary, it is important for
all guild members to participate, if at all possible, and demonstrate loyalty and respect.

Conflicts may involve pain or sacrifice, but not all conflicts must end negatively.  Please be patient and helpful.

Blatant disregard of the Children of Eternity ideals, principles, or policies; or disrespect for fellow members or superiors, will be grounds for demotion or dismissal.
