Nudging Neighbors to Connect (posted by wwong 2/12/01):  I came across an article in Washington Post that talked about a renewal effort, initiated in Shreveport-Bossier, La to promote and foster the environment for neighbors to know each other and strengthen the bonds. A version of this block-by-block approach to building friendships was begun recently in Southeast Washington, where hundreds of neighbors are pulling together to help high school students to cope with anger and concentration school works.
