Our theme, how we pulled it off, and all that good stuff.

Our Theme
We went with a faerie/Midsummer Nights Dream theme. Think flowing romantic dresses, ballet slippers, wands, ivy, etc.

Bridal clothing and accesories:
The ladies got their dresses from a custom dressmaker (see my Vendors page). my dress (mine is Ivory with gold trim):

My bridesmaids' (theirs are all shimmering brown with gold trim):

We'll all be using wreaths of flowers on our heads, and instead of carrying bouquets my girls will carry wands decorated with flowers and yards upon yards of flowing ribbon. My bouquet will be wildflowers, dusky pink roses and ferns. For shoes, we'll be wearing ballerina slippers.

Groom and groomsmen clothing and accessories: Sean is wearing a black rennaissance style wedding shirt. The groomsmen will wear the same shirt in ivory with a black sleeveless overcoat that goes down to mid-calf(see Vendors page):

Decor:
We're lucky, our outdoor location is so pretty that we don't really need decor, as anything we add would just detract from the scenery. We're setting up poles with hanging yards of flowing pastel-colored cloth, similar to the wedding scene in The 40-Year Old Virgin.

As far as the reception goes, we're using ivory linens. For the centerpiece, we're using fairly wide, somewhat shallow bowls which we'll fill with water for three cream-colored floating candles. We'll add green and brown glass beads to the bottom, and place the bowl down on a circular bed of ferns. Since each table is a different faerie, I'll have a small statue of the faerie somewhere on the table (see list below). We'll have small cream votives in glass votive holders scattered around the table, along with the wedding favors:

Each place setting will receive an ivory cardstock card with a picture of their table's faerie and a brief explanation and story. They will also receive a small bundle of incense tied with ribbon and a small card explaining that a tree was donated to reforestation efforts in their honor. (We donated 50 trees via the Arbor Day Foundation and printed up these great looking cards in greens, browns and golds. See pic below.) On one side of the setting will be a peonie, potted in a tiny clay pot with a ribbon tied around it, and on the other side will be a small bird's nest with a few Jordan almonds in it.

The Cake Table:
The cake is two-tiered cake in pale green:

Entertainment:
We're going with a tried and true DJ for entertainment.
