| 07.04.2007 | | Am in Liverpool now, NSW, staying at my friend Yasna's house. V. nice. Have stayed in the YHA on Central in Sydney for 6 nights when I arrived here. Danuta came and picked me up from teh airport, and we went straight to the Redoak (after dropping my bag off in the hostel). So good to be back in Syndey/Australia. And so weird. Beer at the Redoak was good. Spent Saturday walking around in the city, shopping, sightseeing (Opera House and Botanical Gardens). Was a bit tired, may be jetlag? More Redoaking on Saturday night, Catherine, Yasna and Damir, and Danuta dropped by. Sunday was a bit gloomy day with a lot of rain, so went to the MCA. When it cleared up to the Rocks for tea at the Irish Shop. Monday morning: bus 290 to Mac Centre. So weird... Everything looked a lot smaller at uni, and more depressing... I am actually quite happy I finished my studies. Went to see all the supervisors and friends and all. Talked the whole day. Had dinner with Yasna at the Pad Thai in Mac Centre and took the bus back. Tuesday was a nice and lazy day, reading a book at the Opera House, and having an Indian (Pale Ale) at the Redoak. Wednesday was lunch at Sydney Uni with Chris and Danuta. And drinks later at the Redoak. Thursday was checking out time, so packed all my stuff and went to MacUni. Did some more talking to people and walking around. Went back to my old unit (116) and picked up some of my mail. Just a tiny litle bit of shopping at MacCentre and home with Yasna. Had a wonderful Thai dinner there. At friday Yasna worked from home and I relaxed and sat on the balcony reading a book. Saturday I went to Liverpool CBD (walking distance) and later had dinner with Blair, Kim, Joel, Nishen, Andrew and Yasna in Chinatown. Had to rush to get to the busstation for my overnight bus to Byron Bay. Byron was lovely, although there was a tsunami warning because of the earthquake at the Solomon Islands. Nothing happend on the mainland. Had a realy realaxing time with lying on th ebeach, working on my tan, cycling up to the lighthouse and listening to live music. Bus back to Sydney on Tuesday, and Wednesday morning train to Katoomba. Which is also still v. lovely. Got caught out in a thunderstorm when bushwalking, so got completely soaked. But not hit my lightning. Thursday was nice and sunny and had a lovely walk on the Cliff Top Walk. Yesterday it was raining again so didn't go for much of a walk (only to the three sisters for a cup of coffee as most shops were closed due to it being Good Friday). Went back to Liverpool and now staying at Yasna& Damir's place again. :) | | Heb even gen tijd om alles ook in het Nederlands te vertalen, maar ik heb het dus best wel naar mijn zin hier in Aussie, en heb al goed geRedoaked, gewandeld in de Blue Mountains en op het strand gelegen in Byron Bay. En heel veel bij gepraat met vrienden en mensen op de universiteit. |

| 19.03.2007 | | Last day of work before my month long trip to Austrlia (and Tasmania). I will arrive in Sydney on Friday March 23rd around 21:00, stay in the YHA at Central Station. For those of you who want to contact me: I'll have my Aussie mobile phone with me. The Graduation Ceremony is on Friday April 20th at 9:30. That evening there will be a party in the Redoak (as but usual) to say goodbye to all my friends as I will be leaving again on Saturday the 21st. Hope I can update these pages while travelling, so keep an eye out for more goss. | | Laatste dagje op het werk. Donderdag weg en op vrijdag de 23e dus in Sydney. Daar lekker een weekje blijven, slaap in de YHA bij het centraal station. De diploma uitreiking is op vrijdag 20 april om 9:30 en 's avonds is er een feestje om weer afscheid te nemen van iedereen. Zaterdag de 21ste april vlieg ik alweer terug. Ik hoop dat ik tijd heb om deze pagina bij te houden op reis, dus kijk uit naar meer nieuwtjes. |

| 01.03.2007 | | Lots of things happened since last time I wrote: I have new glasses, I've had a birthday party togetrher with my mum, I went to the second event of PV Jong (drinks at Qwibus), I have been on Hyves.nl quite a bit, and I went to the pubquiz in Mick O'Connels on Monday. Busy busy busy. And of course I still have work, music, and try to sort out my holiday to Australia and Tasmania. Only 3 more weeks before I leave. | | Heleboel dingen die gebeurd zijn sinds de laatste entry. Heb nieuwe bril (2 paar) heb nog een verjaardags feestje gehad, samen met mijn moeder, zit af en toe op de Hyves.nl, ben naar de tweede activiteit van PV Jong geweest (borrel in Qwibus), en naar de pubquiz in Mick O'Connels. Druk druk druk dus. En ook nog aan het werk, naar de muziek en mijn vakantie naar Australie en Tasmanie aan het uitzoeken. Nog maar driee weekjes voor ik weg ga. |

| 16.02.2007 | | Oh well, birthday came and went. Had a very nice dinner with my friend Sylvia and my parents. Who all wanted a piece of my famous chocolate truffle cake. Also got a call from my brother and another friend Agnes. So quite tired on Thrusday morning. Not in the mood for work. Which was a bit chaotic as well, as I have started to write an article on Nanodrugs. Today was a lot better, finished my work for this week. Now waiting to go to the orchestra. | | Jammer, is al niet meer mijn verjaardag. Heb een gezellig etentje gehad met Sylvia en mijn ouders. Die ook allemaal een stukje truffeltaart wilden, uiteraard. Nog telefoontjes van mijn broer en van Agnes. Dus best wel moe op donderdag ochtend. Niet erg veel zin in werk. Waar het trouwens toch chaos was, ben bezig met het schrijven van een artikel over Nanodrugs. Vandaag ging het al een stuk beter, heb al mijn werk netjes af gekregen. Nu nog even wachten tot ik weer naar de repetitie van het orkest kan. |

| 14.02.2007 | | Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear Nynke, happy birthday to me. Hurrah! Yes, it's my 33rd birthday. Quite happy about it. Mainly has to do with the giant piece of chocolate-truffel cake that I ate this morning (and baked earlier this week). Have been a bit busy again last week with work, preparations for the new activities of PV Jong, snowball fights, birthday parties (mine and Mart-Willem's) and other fun things. Oh, and have bought two new pairs of glasses who will be ready next week. | | Er is er een jarig hoera, hoera, en dat kun je wel zien dat ben IK. Jippie! Vandaag ben ik 33 geworden, en dat vind ik wel best. Heeft ook wel te maken met dat lekkere grote stuk truffel-chocolade taart dat ik vanochtend op heb (en van de week gemaakt heb). Heb het weer een beetje druk gehad met werk, voorbereidingen van nieuwe activiteiten van PV Jong, sneeuwballen gevecht, verjaardag's feestjes (de mijne en die van Mart-Willem) en andere leuke dingen. Oh, en heb twee nieuwe brillen gekocht die volgende week klaar zijn. |

| 29.01.2007 | | Haven't been able to update this diary for a while, mainly because I wasn't working at my own computer at the office. Kind of killed it. As in: got a virus on it and it wasn't very happy afterwards. So the IT guy completely formatted the compu and now it's back to normal. Lesson learned: do not visit dodgy indian websites. The other reason is that I have been incredibly busy with the PV Jong (young employee society). We've had our first activity last week Thursday: drinks at Qwibus. Around 60 people attended and had a lot of fun. I had to make a short speech to explain the plans for the next few months. On Friday afternoon we went to the promotion/graduation ceremony of a collegue in Groningen. And in the evening I went to rehearsal of the orchestra in De Bilt. Joined the thrid clarinettist there, quite nice. So my weekend was filled with: relaxing !! Couch potato square. | | Heb even deze pagina niet kunnen bijhouden. Voornamelijk omdat mijn computer een beetje een virus had opgelopen en daardoor een beetje stuk was. Oeps. Dus onze computer-held heeft hem helemaal opnieuw geinstalleerd. Nu doet'ie het weer en kan ik weer aan mijn eigen computer werken. Maar ook dus omdat ik het heel erg druk had met de PV Jong. Vproge week donderdag was onze eerste activiteit: een borrel in cafe Qwibus. Ongeveer 60 mensjes kwamen gezellig borrelen. Ik mocht nog fijn even een praatje houden over wat we zoal van plan zijn om de komende tijd te gaan doen. Vrijdag zijn we naar Groningen geweest omdat een collega ging promoveren. 's Avonds ben ik meteen door gegaan naar de repetite van de Koninklijke Biltse Harmonie, waar ik bij de derde klarinetten mocht meespelen. Erg gezellig. Dus het weekend was vooral bedoeld om lekker te gaan uitrusten. Bank zitten in het kwadraat. |

One fabulous piece of exciting gossip: I have finished cleaning the ceiling in my living room. Have started on the ceiling in the kitchen. Boring ! | | Niet veel nieuws vandaag. | 08.01.2007 | | Went to the pub Hofman on Friday night for dinner, and afterwards to Florin for 'some' drinks. Went to the hairdressers on Saturday, where I had to wait an hour and a half. Thank Goddess I had a book with me to read, as the supplied reading material was a little bit boring. Hair looks good, me is happy with it. Didn't no nuttink on Sunday as I was too tired. Well, I did have a nice afternoon nap on the couch, that is not nuttink. Raining this morning so all Gore-tex-ed up to work. Had a new years morning tea. As the new PV Jong we won the encouragement award for best initiative. We were handing out our lollipops with an invitation for the first activity (drinks on Jan 25) which was quite fun. Managed to even get work done in between all those new year thingies. | | Ben vrijdagavond naar Hofman geweest voor een hapje eten en daarna naar Florin voor 'wat' drankjes. Zaterdag lekker naar de kapper toe, waar ik helaas anderhalf uur heb moeten wachten tot ik aan de beurt wsa. Gelukkig has ik wel een boek bij me, want het leesvoer wat daar lag was niet bijster interessant. Zit nu wel leuk hoor, mijn haar. Zondag helemaal niets gedaan want ik was veel te moe. Hoewel, slapen op de bank is zeker niet niks doen. Vanochtend weer eens gezellig regen, dus van top tot teen in de Gore-Tex naar het werk toe. Daar een nieuwjaars bijeenkomst waar we als PV Jong de aanmoedigings prijs voor het beste initiatief hebben gewonnen. Daarna nog lollies uitgedeeld met daar aan vast geniet de uitnodiging voor onze eerste activiteit (borrel 25 januari). Zowaar ook nog werk gedaan tussen al die nieuwjaars dingen door. |

| 04.01.2007 | | Happy New Year everyone. Hope you had a fun NYE and a great start of 2007. I have been watching 6 episodes of Dr Who (second series) and 1 episode of Torchwood on NYE. Also had 1 bottle of Lindemans Sparkling Rose Bin and lit 3 sparklers. Fun!! My parent's dropped by on new years day with oliebollen and my christmas present. Thanks! And I have been at work since Tuesday. Still very quiet here. I have also finished my scarf, picture of me wearing it will follow. | | Gelukkig nieuwjaar allemaal. Hoop dat jullie een fijne oudjaarsavond hebben gehad en een goed begin van 2007. Ik heb naar 6 afleveringen van Dr Who gekeken (2e serie) en 1 aflevering van Torchwood. Ondertussen een fles Lindemans sparkling Rose leeg gedronken en om middernacht 3 sterretjes afgestoken. Leuk! Mijn ouders kwamen op nieuwjaarsdag onverwacht langs, met oliebollen en mijn kerstkado. Dank! Ben al sinds disndag weer gewoon aan het werk. Nogsteeds vrij rustig hier. Mijn sjaal is trouwens ook klaar, ik zal er eens een foto van maken. |
