de jaren negentig.... Woonde in Eindhoven, deed examen voor het VWO met de vakken Nederlands, Engels, Geschiedenis, Economie, Wiskunde B, Scheikunde, Natuurkunde en Biologie. Als afstudeerkado naar Kreta op vakantie. Daarna naar de Hogeschool Eindhoven voor de studie Hoger Laboratorium Onderwijs. Op vakantie naar de Pyreneen (Spanje) waar ik Arjen H., Angela en Patrick heb ontmoet. Heb stage gelopen in Zwitserland bij het farmaceutisch bedrijf Ciba-Geigy in 1995 en aan het academisch ziekenhuis in Maastricht in 1996. Heerlijk met Sylvia zitten kletsen over ons werk bij haar op de kamer. Afgestudeerd en verder studeren aan de universiteit in Leiden: Bio-Farmaceutische Wetenschappen. In het tweede jaar ingestroomd en redelijk makkelijk voor me. Bij de studenten vereniging SSR gegaan en lid geworden van de disputen Venix en LUCIFER. Stage bij de afdeling farmacognosie naar tabaksplantjes en salicyl zuur in 1998-1999. Had genoeg van al dat werken op het lab en ben bij Kooijker (boekhandel) gaan werken in Oegstgeest. Inkoop en service afdeling, hard werk, geen goede werkomstandigheden (RSI en dat soort klachten). Zijn op concertreis naar China geweest met klarinet ensemble Lignum, was echt werkelijk geweldig, concert op de grote muur.

The 90's. Lived in Eindhoven, had to do exams to finish secondary school. Exams in Dutch, English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History and Economics. Went to Crete for a holiday with my parents. Time for my bachelors degree in Laboratory Sciences at the Hogeschool Eindhoven. Majored in Microbiology. Holidays to France (survival camp) and Spain (Pyreneos Aragones, walking for 3 weeks, great, met Arjen H., Angela and Patrick). Trainee-ship in Basle with the pharmaceutical company Ciba-Geigy, now Novartis. Last bit of research at the Academic Hostpital in Maastricht in 1996, where I spent a lot of time with Sylvia discussing the research and our dear collegues. Finished BSc. Moved to Leiden to study Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences, joined the student association SSR and the groups LUCIFER and VENIX. Did my masters-research at the department of pharmacognosy on tobacco plants and salicylic acid. Finished the degree in 1999 and started working at a bookstore (Kooijker) in Oegstgeest at the service deparment. Wasn't a great job, just to get money in and time for me to think want I really wanted to do. Went on a concert tour to China with the clarinet choir Lignum, and we even played on the Great Wall.
