What We Do

NYDRI’s work takes place in committees of the task force:

·     An advocacy committee with a two-fold mission: Exploring and identifying socio-political issues related to World Trade Center disaster victims’ needs and recommending positions and actions to NYDRI participant organizations.  Setting guidelines for providing direct services to victims and sitting at the community unmet needs roundtable to disburse direct assistance.

·     A spiritual care committee that promotes interfaith cooperation and collaboration in capacity-building and service delivery around short-term crisis intervention, long-term spiritual care, and other spiritual needs of victims and care-givers.

NYDRI is currently seeking a project  director to develop and
implement a pilot project in care for care-givers thanks to a
staffing grant from the September 11 Fund.
      (See job description.)

·     A planning committee which envisions NYDRI’s future as a prophetic deaconate interfaith ministry.

·     A finance committee which works closely with the planning committee on determining program priorities for funding
