![]() Who We Are
The New York Disaster Recovery Interfaith Task Force (NYDRI) is an inter-religious circle of judicatories, congregations, agencies, and other faith-based organizations that are responding to humanitarian needs resulting from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. It encompasses participants from the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, and Jewish communities. The Word Trade Center disaster affected the largest number of faith communities in the history of the world. NYDRI was created because the spiritually-based work of faith communities is integral to the recovery process. The following mission statement guides its work: NYDRI’s mission is to serve all those affected by disasters. NYDRI will work together with interfaith communities and in partnership with other service organizations to empower faith communities to respond effectively to disasters by facilitating the delivery of · Assistance programs · Spiritual care and counseling · Advocacy in responding to all those affected by disaster
