Haven is an rpg (role-playing game). You should be familiar with rpgs if you intend on joining. It's not based off any books, there are no "canon" characters,  you make your own. For the rpers here that's the beauty of it.

It takes place in real time, present day New York City. We don't use messageboards- we use a chat room which once you join you will be given the link to. If you are unfamiliar with how to rp in a chatroom someone from the rp can teach you, just contact
me letting me know that you are interested.

There are a number of species that your character could be, and a list of them including information is provided.

Werewolves are not quite as common as vampires, but still the second most common supernatural creature. Werewolves are beings that can shift between wolf and human, and usually as they will (none of that full moon clichd stuff). They are turned by one way: being 'infected' by werewolf blood if they survive an attack. However, there are three types of werewolves:

The
hybrid-human-werewolf, in which the creature is a child of a werewolf and a human. These are the weakest of the three types, they can only change at night, and they're strength is generally only a little above what is considered 'strong' for a human. They generally can only feed on farm animals, and occasionally the deer. Hybrid werewolves are often held in contempt by the other two, and cannot turn humans. Generally these kind of werewolves only live a century or so, and are often very unhappy.

The
'turned' werewolves are humans that were turned by either a full-bred werewolf, or another turned one. They are generally very strong, and can live to about three or four centuries. Turned werewolves are the most common of the types, and usually the best kind to be. They usually feed off of game animals (such as deer, elk, etc.), humans, and occasionally a farm animal, but if there are suspicions, they can live off of fruit and vegetablesjust not very long, and they become very unhealthy. Turned werewolves can change at their will, using any type of form that they want (i.e.: human head, wolf body, all human, all wolf, etc.).

The
'full-bred' werewolves are creatures that were born as werewolves. They are the strongest of the three types, and generally only feed off of humans. They tend to travel in clans, but it's not unnatural to find a lone full-bred. These are the rarest kind of werewolf.

Werewolves can possess no magic, even if the human was a mage when turned. Unlike the vampire, they can produce children with humans, incubi, and other werewolves. Generally, even though both parents are werewolves, their child will actually be born human, and remain that way unless turned. They have no magical defenses, except the fact they have natural blocks over their minds that only older vampires can get past. However, they are immune to almost all sicknesses, save the weakness that comes of not feeding well, and can heal any cut within a matter of moments unless it was made by silver - in which case they can die. Only way to cure a silver wound - even if it was a very small amount - is through magical means, and even then it will heal at the normal rate a human cut will heal (and in werewolf time, that is excruciatingly slow).
