Juggling the soccer ball
Why practice juggling? Kids ask this question all the time. You don't often see someone juggling the ball during a soccer game but, you do use the same touches during a game.
Juggling improves your foot to eye coordination and your touch on the ball. Your touch / skill development is critical to becoming a top level soccer player. You could be the best athlete on the team but , without a good touch on the ball you will struggle to keep control of it. Juggling will also improve your balance and timing.
When practicing juggling use both of your feet. Coaches love two footed soccer players. Try to limit the use of your thighs when learning to juggle because the thighs are typically used for trapping the ball.
Juggling is difficult at first but, keep working at it and you will develop a feel for this skill. Challenge yourself. Set goals. Try to get to five. Try the next day and improve on your record. There is a girl on last years GU-11 team who juggled the ball 167 times using her feet only. Go Kendall!
