Why do I have to take the RN Access course?

The RN Access course is designed to provide an over view of the first five semesters of the Collaborative Nursing Program. Students will explore the concepts and components of these semesters in relation to their current practice and experience in nursing, prior to joining the continuing students in Semester Six. The course also assists practicing RN's to make the transition from expert to learner.

Are there any prerequisites for the RN Access course?

You must be a practicing Registered Nurse in British Columbia.

How is the course set up?

The course is a 4.5 credit flexible course that runs throughout the semester. (For example, it could consist of four two-day workshops and approximately 2.5 hours per week of independently organized sessions.) Total organized study time is ninety hours. The first two workshops are scheduled by faculty, after which students and faculty design and schedule subsequent workshops.
