Androids and Robots
Robots are everywhere in the world of Armitage III. Players looking
for a roleplaying challenge, or who want to play a character with abilities
beyond mortals of flesh and blood, may wish to create robot and characters. They should read these pages to find roleplaying inspiration. Game Masters who want to keep their
campaigns close to the storyline of the animated features will need to
limit players to playing Type Two robots that have been reprogrammed with
greater free will and self-awareness than most of them (like, possibly,
Mouse), as all Type Three robots and Assassinroids are accounted for. If
a Game Master wants to take more ownership of his campaign and the setting,
he can allow Type Three robots as player characters. Perhaps Dr. Asakura
created additional Type Three robots before (or perhaps even after) his
exile to Dunwich Hill. A co-conspirator of Demitrio Mardini or some rogue
scientist within Conception could also rediscover the secret of the Third-type
robot and created more.
Robots without their own personality are considered mecha. Robot characters
are considered to be Marked at Level 2 unless they are Thirds or take pains
to hide their robotic nature, in which case they should take Skeleton In
The Closet at Level 2. Armitage and Julian should be used as models for
the creation of additional Third-type robot characters, with the attributes
of Super-Strength (Level 1) and Touch-Control (Level 2 or higher) and Repoductive
Capacity for female Third-type robots being required.
