Battle Armour

This page features the various suits of battle armour that appear in the Armitage III features. They are suitable for use in other science fiction and cyberpunk settings as well. These items are earned by characters who possess the Own Big Mecha attribute. (Note: The mecha presented here are all military grade equipment, with the exception of the Utility Service Mecha, which was a piece of civilian equipment put to creative and deadly use by a psychopathic villian.)

Conception Prototype Battle Suit #1 (35 Mecha Points)

Armour: 20        Health Points: 80

Essentially an overgrown suit of powered armour, this mecha was used by the second D’Anclaude during his attack on Ross and Armitage at Shenora Hospital. It uses several ball wheels for locomotion which make it quick and able to move in unexpected directions, and mounts a heavy autocannon under the right hand and a machine gun on the left arm, in place of a hand. The pilot of the mecha has little room for anything but him- or herself, and even then doesn’t fit entirely. The head and chest of the pilot are exposed, making inviting targets, and this is just what Armitage strikes at when she kills D’Anclaude.

Conception Prototype Battle Suit #2 (30 Mecha Points)

Armour: 20        Health Points: 60

Found in storage in the Conception laboratory on Dunwich Hill, this suit of advanced powered armour is used by Ross against the government troops that attack the installation. Its right arm is a large-bore cannon, and its left contains both a shield and a hand-held machine gun, stowed away. The armour of the suit is heavy duty except around the user’s head, which is exposed. A reticule feeding targeting data extends from the suit to the wearer’s eye for more accurate firing. The suit is bulky and slow, moving without grace, but packs a lot of punch for a wearable weapons system.

Elite Trooper Battle Armour (45 Mecha Points)

Copyright ©1995-2003 Pioneer Entertainment (USA)The elite forces of the Earth military, as well as those soldiers likely to encounter robotic resistance, are assigned suits of battle armour that augments their strength and speed while providing some protection from weapons fire and melee attacks. Suits like this were used by Colonel Strings and his team when they attacked the anti-matter plant during the First Error, and the decoy Sergeant that Armitage fought while searching for Strings wore one as well. These suits are owned by the military, and issued on a mission by mission basis.

Utility Service Mecha (45 Mecha Points)

Armour: 20        Health Points: 80

This mecha was used by the second D’Anclaude to ambush Ross, Armitage, and Julian when they went to the memory server. Though it lacks any ranged weapons, as it was not intended for assault but rather utility, the vehicle is still extremely dangerous. It is extremely agile and quick, and is moved by a single large wheel balanced by gyros. On either side of the wheel are large grasping arms, each strengthened for lifting and equipped with a large extension that can be used as a shield. The mecha is piloted by a single person who sits in a contained cockpit above the wheel and directs its movements. This cockpit is protected from gas, dust, smoke, and the like, and can even be submerged for short periods of time before the internal oxygen runs out.
