Vehicles
This page features aircraft and ground vehicles featured prominantly in
the Armitage III features. In addition to the hi-tech conveyances
we spotlight here, many common people on Earth and Mars still use cars
and trucks that are similar to the vehicles used in the modern world. The
stats found on this
page can be used to represent those vehicles. (The mecha point costs on
that page are all increased by 6, due to the standard-feature robotic auto-pilot.
For more, see the notes under "Hover Craft, below.)
The aircraft and spacecraft are covered by the Own Big Mecha attribute.
Civilian vehicles are covered by the Personal Gear attribute, and they
are considered Major items.
Aircraft and Spacecraft
Helicopter Gunship (55 Mecha Points)
Used by Demitrio’s men to try to kill Ross, these vehicles were originally
created to destroy land vehicles and provide support to ground forces.
They carry rockets for use against infantry, and a chain gun and missiles
that penetrate enemy armour. To send such powerful hardware after Ross,
Demitrio must have considered him to be very dangerous indeed.

Transport Shuttle (46 Mecha Points)
Travel between Earth and Mars is as commonplace in the world of Armitage
III as supersonic travel is in the real world. Business interests often
involve both planets, and meetings between businessmen are often required
which could not be done with proper privacy over the phone or on-line.
In addition, many people born on Mars are curious to see humanity’s homeworld
for themselves, and natives of earth often wonder what life on the other
planet is like. The answer to these transportation problems is the transport
shuttle, which features an engine capable of making the trip between Earth
and Mars in a matter of days or even hours.

Civilian Vehicles
All civilian vehciles in the Armitage III setting feature built-in,
robotic auto-pilots that conform to the conform to the following
statistics: Body 7, Mind 3; Attack Combat Value 3, Defence Combat
Value 1; Energy Points 10. (Semi-autonmous, but requires specific programming.)
Most vehicles also come with a built-in Navi.
Hover Car (16 Mecha Points)
Armour: 2 Health Points:

Unlike on Mars, where the standard mode of transportation is a wheeled
vehicle, Earth automobiles are made to hover on a cushion of air. This
allows them access to many types of terrain, but some more rocky or gravely
areas can damage the underside of the vehicle as rocks are whipped up by
the air cushion. Like their Martian cousins, however, Earth hover cars
are piloted by an artificial intelligence to make accidents less likely.
In fact, most of these cars have no provision made for a human to drive--only
models special-ordered with a manual system can actually be driven by the
driver.
