Week 8 Analysis by Phil Predictions by Marc
Detroit vs. Tampa Bay Marc’s Line: 21-14 Detroit
One of the only undefeated team left in the NTFL left faces off against a tough
Bucs defense. The Bucs are known for their D, but they need to have a solid
offense to stay in this one. Detroit will come out with their powerful rushing
offense this could open up the pass game. If Charlie Batch can get the ball to
the receivers this should be a long game for the Bucs.
Arizona vs. Dallas Marc’s Line: 37-7 Arizona
With numerous roster changes Arizona still keeps their perfect record, and I
don’t know if Dallas can stop this bus. I like Arizona, they have a solid
defense and an offense that can produce. If the offense does make a mistake the
defense can still hold up. Dallas will have to try to run if anything, after
losing McNair they don’t have much of a pass game. Look for this one to be high
scoring……… for one team.
Buffalo vs. Minnesota Marc’s Line: 28-14 Minnesota
If Buffalo wants to get a win this would be the time. Minnesota is hurting
after losing 3 in a row. I believe Minnesota can bounce back behind of the
running of R.Smith and the quick passes of Rob Johnson to Eric Moulds. For
Buffalo Cunningham will have to do a little bit of running himself when his
receivers aren’t open. Charlie Garner should also look to run but try to avoid
Bryan Cox of Minnesota.
Chicago vs. Philadelphia Marc’s Line: 21-14 Philadelphia
These are two great teams, and this should be a good game. Even without McNabb
Philly can still win, but I think they would still be undefeated with him.
Chicago has my favorite QB Brett Favre at the helm. Some running from Dillon
could help Philly but the pass game will have to help too. Chicago just needs
to hit the speedy receivers when they are open to go downfield. Field position
will be a big factor in this game.
Denver vs. Cincinnati Marc’s Line: 21-14 Denver
Not much going for Cinci this season, I think they should of used trade week to
trade more it would of helped their team, they have some weapons in Vinny, and
Centers. Denver has had a rough season with the passing game so once again they
will go to the run. If Takeo Spikes can contain the run Cinci might have a
chance at their first win.
New England vs. Indianapolis Marc’s Line: 35-14 Indianapolis
New England is in a tough division and they will have to face one of their
division teams. Indianapolis the definition of team defense will try to keep it
up against the cannon of Bledsoe. Indy with only one go to receiver will still
hit him up, and as long as they do that they will keep moving downfield towards
the endzone.
New Orleans vs. Atlanta Marc’s Line: 21-14 Atlanta
After a .500 start New Orleans has dropped some games. Atlanta has turned this
team around, from going to the bottom of the NFC west and heading towards the
top. Shaun King isn’t the top rated QB in the league but he still can hit up
his receivers and he will. The former Saint Ricky Williams will be looking to
march all over New Orleans.
St. Louis vs. Kansas City Marc’s Line: 28-7 St. Louis
The throw-it-deep offense of Kansas City will try to break the St. Louis
defense. Tyrone Wheatly can rush for over 100 yards but it probably won’t make
a difference in this game. Faulk will be looking to get around Seau for some
major yardage. St. Louis will have to watch Issac Bruce going deep for those
long bombs from Freotte. Holt will be looking for some short yardage tosses
from Garcia.
Seattle vs. Oakland Marc’s Line: 28-7 Seattle
Oakland has ended their defeated streak and are wanting a win against Seattle to
move up in their division. But after losing the first 2, Seattle is rolling
towards the postseason. If Oakland’s defense can force turnovers and give the
offense a chance Seattle might be stopped. But Seattle’s defense has been doing
well of late and should be hard to get by.
Tennessee vs. Baltimore Marc’s Line: 21-10 Baltimore
The key for Tennessee for this game is to get out early. You have to attack
Baltimore early and take away the momentum. Baltimore’s defense is still strong
but a crack can be found. Team of the week Tennessee is pretty confident behind
QB Dante Culpepper and his great receivers. We will have to see if the
Baltimore defense can contain these 3 all stars. If Frank Sanders is in the
open field you can kiss this one good bye Tenn.
Washington vs. Jacksonville Marc’s Line: 27-14 Washington
With a very though schedule the Redskins are still posting a winning record.
And now they have McNair which adds yet another threat to their offense, the
defensive line is powerful. There is only one word that describes this team
“solid.” Jacksonville will have to try to force fumbles and ints from
Washington to try to win this one.
Miami vs. New York Jets Marc’s Line: 34-28 New York Jets
This will be a test for both teams. The offense has been shaky for the Jets
behind Jeff George. But Jacquez Green still remains a bright spot, his running opens up
the pass game. Miami can run just like the Jets and this should be a ground
battle. Whichever team can hook up their receivers deep and execute goal line
plays will win this game.
