Textile Design

Winner of Textile Design Cleome Wadsworth Donor Award in 1980 with renewals in 1981 and 1982. Completed BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Studied at Parsons in Japan, Penland School of Crafts, Appalachian Center for Crafts.
    Enid Adams is a professional artist specializing in surface design (the design and application of color and pattern to textiles and other surfaces). She maintains a studio in the old train station in The Plains, VA, along with other artists. Her original designs on silk scarves and ties are available at the studio and from the Renwick Gallery Shop, Fishscale and Mousetooth (Old town Manassas). The Blue Peach (The Plains) and other venues. She has taught workshops for The Smithsonian Resident Associates, VA. Museum of Fine Arts (and twelve of its statewide affiliates). Hand workshop art Center (Richmond) Lee Art Center (Arlington), Pyramid Atlantic Center for Book Arts (Riverdale, MD) and many other art centers. She welcomes studio visits by appointment.
  Enid has a show upcoming in the month of April at Fishscale and Mousetooth.
