No fancy pictures here, no fancy rhymes, just plain old stuff from me and mine.
Well, sort of... Check out all the various links and pages... There's a lot of them!
(Please be patient while the photos load, thank you)

Hi, thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy these pages. They include my interests and pictures of the banjos that I've built from scratch.

I am located in the Kansas City, Missouri area with my family. My wife Cathy and I have, all together,  half a dozen kids. Five are grown adults, Kris, Sarah, Jeff, Luke and Lance who live away from home.  Luke and Lance are both in college.  Lacy has discovered the Cell Phone, Boys, Computers and cars, not necessarily in that order.
Thank God for cell phones!!

Cathy is a child daycare provider in our home, so we are always blessed with "the little ones" around. We are also Grandparents now, thanks to son Jeffery and son Kris and their wives have brought us precious little girls and a handsome little boy. We are continually blessed with "little ones" in our lives. Plus our grandkids from our son-in-law Jim, Sarah's hubby.  Jim has a boy and a girl from a previous marriage and they are getting so big AND so smart.  Grandkids are just soooo much fun!!!!

Our Interests: We enjoy acoustic instruments. My son Jeff & I have performed regularly with the Gower Goodtimers in Gower, Missouri and at other "Jam" sessions and oprys around the area.  We've even been known to be seen once and a while on a Friday night at the Habot in Kansas City North, or sometimes at the Mosby Opry which is located between Liberty and  Excelsior Springs off Highway 10. These groups are dedicated to performing the Old-Time Gospel, Country, and Bluegrass music.

I play the 5 string banjo, which I built from scratch, sing lead, harmony, and  tenor.
Click here to see other banjos that I have built.

I also accompany in our Sunday morning worship service at our church.  This is such a blessing, as I "help" set the mood or attitude for worship, and I get to do it using my favorite tool,  the BANJO!!!!!  Now if you're wondering what kind of a church would let me and my Banjo in on the worship service,  just click here and see.

My son Jeff  has written some music and plays a pretty mean guitar as well. He also sings lead and harmony and does a fine job with the pickin'. Jeff is also gifted in that he can play most string instruments and will often accompany on the bass.  Jeffery could easily make a living with his gifts, but chooses not to and that's OK with dad here.   Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging on 'em.  I'm just stating the facts. He has also started a Country - Gospel - Bluegrass group now called Biscuit Creek and they have appointed me, good ole dad,  as their "manager."  Time will only tell how that will continue to develop.

Daughter Sarah  has a voice like the angels and has toured with The Continental Singers, a contemporary Gospel music group, she toured most recently with them in 2001.  When she has the opportunity, she joins Jeff and I on the stage.  Sarah's thought about pursuing full time music ministry, but also realizes the amount of time and the sacrifices needed to make it work and has just decided to leave that as a "dream"  for now.  Plus becoming a new bride in March 2003, I'm sure she'll be quite busy keeping hubby Jim occupied and taking care of those sweet grandkids!

Son Kris has tried playing the mandolin and bass, though not serious, his interests have changed now that he has married and has 2 precious punkins, or grandkids, to take care of for me.  I think now his wife Beth and his daughter and son are helping hold his focus on life.

As of March 2004 we now have a recording of ourselves on a 2 CD set.
This was a special Gospel Hoedown fund raising event for our youth at church.
It is totally unrehearsed, spontaneous, un-professionally recorded CD.
But it is us and it is live!!

I also have in excess of over 30,000 songs and lyrics in my collection.
Of course you must realize that some of the songs are duplicate titles.
Click here if you would like to see what I mean.

If you are having trouble finding the words or lyrics to a song or the song itself,
send me an E-mail and I'll see if I can locate it for you.
Or you can click here to view my collection of Artist's that I have on hand.

If you're ever on Ebay.jpg you might want to check out seller playnit.
That's me.  There I'm selling all my "unwanted" or "extra" items that I've accumulated.  Yes, I do have some records and CD's and a few other items from time to time.  You can also check here for my Set Price records that I have for sale occasionally.
