At MOMS Club®, we strive to have fun while supporting each other in the rewarding but sometimes difficult task of raising our children. To meet this goal, we have meetings and activities throughout each month, giving all members the opportunity to grow and learn as parents and build lasting friendships.

Here is a general list of activities held by our chapter. The actual activities vary each month, but this should give you an idea of what we do! Activities and meetings, with the exception of MOMS Night Out, are held during the day and CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

Monthly Meet and Greet: Once a month, we hold a meeting to discuss and vote on upcoming events. We often have a guest speaker from the community or just enjoy time for moms to get to know each other doing a craft or project while the kids play in the nursery.

Field Trips: You don’t have to be in school to enjoy field trips! Each month, our Cruisin’ Mamas Coordinator tries to schedule a trip or tour to some place new or an old favorite. Past field trips have included the zoo, museums, local businesses, pumpkin patches and more!

Playgroups: This is a great opportunity to get your child together with a small group of kids his or her own age! Playgroups also offer a chance for moms to meet on a regular basis. We currently have several playgroups meeting on a variety of days and times to fit your schedule.

MOMS Night Out: As much as we love our children, it is still nice to get out of the house once a month and share a little “moms-only” conversation! Past activities have included going to see the movies, plays, shopping, crafts and dinner at restaurants. Children are allowed to attend if need be.

Activity Groups: Members often like to get together to share a common interest so they can form an activity group. We currently have a scrap booking group that meets twice a month. Other types of group that have been discussed include a babysitting, co-op and a book of the month club.

Service Projects: Every MOMS Club® chapter is required to perform one service project per calendar year. Our chapter continually exceeds this requirement in supporting other moms and children in the Topeka area. A recent service project for our chapter was holding a chapter wide garage sale where the proceeds were used to support the Stork’s Cradle, a local program that supports teenage mothers. We also support the Daegan Feyh fun, a local child with a rare form of leukemia.

Our chapter is open to all parents within our community who are committed to staying at home with their children. Many of our members have home-based businesses or are employed outside the home on a part-time basis, but make arrangements so they are home with their kids the majority of the time! Our dues are $25 a year, but financial assistance is available.
