About The North Jackson Church of Christ
The brochure below is one of the pieces of literature that we distribute monthly in our "Door - to - Door campaign." It is included here because it gives pertinent information about the North Jackson Church of Christ.
A PLACE TO BELONG
Everyone needs a place to belong. A Place where people know your name. A place where people care when you hurt. A place where people expect and encourage the best from one another. Wouldn't it be great to find such a place? To discover that it believes in the worth and dignity of every person? That it believes in strong families, honesty, and hard work? That it seeks to honor God through all its activities? The North Jackson Church of Christ is striving to be that kind of place, that kind of people. When the Bible speaks of the church, it speaks of far more than a building. The church is people. God's people. Caring people. A place to belong. We believe Jesus's words. "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another." Peace, unity, and a warm friendly atmosphere have long been trademarks of the North Jackson Church of Christ. We love and care for one another. We call one another by name. We visit in one another's houses. We are involved in one another's lives. Could such a place be something you have been looking for? If so, please let us tell you more.
A PLACE TO BELONG
Even from the youngest children, every effort is made to make Bible classes interesting, bibilical, and enjoyable. Kids love our classes! In addition, we have a very active Tweens group (Grades 4-6), Junior High, and Senior High group. They are regularly involved in many spiritual activities, and also do fun things as well. Aside from having an excellent youth director, many parents are also actively involved.
A PLACE OF FELLOWSHIP
A tremendous amount of fellowship is obvious at North Jackson. There are regualr fellowships for the Singles, the Young Adults, The Tricades, The Primetimers, The Golden Lunch Bunch, and we even have fellowship groups to welcome new members and help the feel at home.
A PLACE WHERE THE BIBLE IS RESPECTED
In our age many people either ridicule or ignore the Bible. We do not. Kelby Smith our pulpit minister, will readily tell you that respect for the Bible is a number one priority and is essential to a continued atmosphere of harmony and peace which has characterized this church through the years. Every sermon is scripture filled, practical, and understandable. You are encouraged to read along and studyfor yourself. You can rest assured that you will never be embarrassed. The North Jackson Church of Christ is led by elders and served by deacons who are committed to the word of God. Our Bible school is staffed by teachers who uphold the truth of God's inspired book. We follow no creed or teaching not found in the Bible. For this reason we are committed to never adding to or taking away from the word of God. David Barker, our youth minister, is biblically sound in every respect. In fact it is difficult to find someone who is so well liked, does an excellent job with the youth, and yet has an obvious Bible based approach. We trust the Bible as a reliable guide in this troubled world.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT
When you visit the North Jackson Church of Christ, you will be treated as out honored guest. People will shake your hand and introduce themselves. We will help you find your Bible class. We will really try to make you feel welcome. You can count on that! Jesus said. "God is a spirit and they that worship himmust worship in spirit and in truth." Because of our confidence in the Bible, we pattern our worship after the teaching of the New Testament. We observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday like the apostles taught the early church (Acts 20:7, I Corinthians 11:23-26). We give of our money each Sunday as Paul taught in ( I Corinthians 16:1-2). We pray and study the Bible just as you would expect. Everyone joins in our enthusiastic singing, seeking to obey (Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16). Though the inclusion of the Lord's Supper each Sunday and the absence of a piano or organ may seem unusual at first, we think you will find our worship moving and biblical. You may even find yourself paying more attention to the messages of the songs and thinking more deeply about the cross of Christ.
A PLACE FOR YOU
| Thank you for letting us tell you something about ourselves. We hope you will plan to visit with us. If you want to worship God with friendly, Bible-believing people, the North Jackson could be just the place for you. We set no man-made standards for church membership. In order to be saved, you must realize your sins and turn from them in repentance (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30-31). You must confess Jesus as the Son of God (Acts 8:37, Romans 10:9-10). And you must, as an act of faith, be baptized for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38 & 22:16, I Peter 3:21). At this point, the Lord will add you to His Church (Acts 2:47); and the joys of salvation will be yours. Ifyou would like to request any of the following please post a message in the box at the bottom of the page.
