The natural vegetation in the North region of Brazil is rain forest. Almost all of the reigon is covered in it, and 40% of the total area of brazil. It consists of many tall trees about 50m high, and with emergants that grow up to 200m. It is suspected that the Amazon Lowlands have 700 species of mammals, 1 800 of birds, and 1 500 of fish. The Amazon rain forest is the world's largest rain forest, which is why many do not want it to be destroyed.
