Tour Route 8 in Pequannock
Downtown Pequannock

Modern pictures along the Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock

Continuing on, we see the Pequannock Post Office, built in 1962. Next we see the Pequannock School, built in 1923 on Oak Ave (this was actually on the original Newark-Pompton Turnpike route), just a few hundred feet off the turnpike. This is the oldest school building in town.

The view, looking north, about 1 mile past the bridge. This is where the original section of Newark Pompton Turnpike  (now called Lincoln Park Road) connects with the main section of the road, Next to this triangular intersection (the next picture) is a WWII era ant-aircraft artillery piece along the turnpike.
