Upcoming NITRO Events
Here is a list of all future NITRO events.

1.)
First Quarter - SchoolYard Wars

Description:
A non-combat competition based on Discovery's "Junkyard Wars" where two teams of 3-4 students have 3 hours to build something out of a LEGO Mindstorms set and compete.
Rules:
The invention that the teams need be making will be announced on the day.  They will be very, very random, with varying degrees of difficulty, so contestants have to be prepared.
Notes: 8 teams will compete in a knockout style competition over the course of many weeks.

2.)
Second Quarter - NITRO Season 1

Description:
An Interschool Combat Robotics League
Rules:
Will be similar to the rules we have now.  There will be leagues for:
1.) Tamiya Modeling Set and R/C Robots
2.) LEGO Mindstorms Robots

Notes:
We are hoping to have 8 robots in each league.

3.) Third Quarter
- RoboOlympics

Description:
A non-combat Robotic Olympiad for LEGO Mindstorms Robots.  They will be ranked in the following activities:
- Obstacle Course (negotiate a course with various obstacles)
- Hill-Climbing  (climb an increasing incline the fastest)
- Maze (negotiate a maze with tight turns and dead ends)
- 10-Pin Bowling (use your robot to knock down pins)
- Power Tow (pulling a weight)
- Sprint (speed down a straight)
- Robot Soccer (putting a ball into the goal)
- Marathon (not exactly 24 kilometers, but 10 meters.  Easy, huh.  The catch?  Robots have to end as close to a cone as possible, so accuracy is key)
Rules: Robots compete alone, adding up best times for points.  Best robot in the event gets the most points.  Robot with most points wins.
Notes: We are hoping to have competitions after school and during school.  NITRO combat robots can also participate, but they may not be used to attack their opponents.

4.) Fourth Quarter - NITRO Season 2

Description:
An Interschool Combat Robotics League
Rules: Will be similar to the rules we have now.  There will be leagues for:
1.) Tamiya Modeling Set and R/C Robots
2.) LEGO Mindstorms Robots
Notes: We are hoping to have 8 robots in each league.
