On the 15th of May, 2004, at around 2:30 in the afternoon, 5 intrepid NITRO Roboteers embarked on a trip to Siam Discovery Center to buy robot parts.
The search for these elusive parts proved to be a difficult one, we found two collector's modelling shops, but they did not have the kits we wanted. We asked the people where we could find the parts we needed, and they pointed us in the direction of a distant land, on the 6th floor of Siam Discovery Center. The journey to the store was a long and tedious one (5 minutes) and when we finally arrived, we breathed a sigh of relief.
But the story did not end there. Some evil person has already come before us and bought all the Tamiya Twin Motor Gearboxes before us, so there weren't any more left. The teams used this opportunity to buy wheels and controllers, but the quest goes on.
The shopowner informed us that there has been rumors of Twin-Motor Gearboxes being sighted at Central Chidlom, so we hopped on the Skytrain and headed in that direction. At last, we found ONE set, but the two teams needed two. Team KOC decided to take it, and the Naizux team members had to continue their quest.
It brought them to Emporium, where Frank has seen at least 2 Gearboxes on his last reconnaissance mission. The quest continues. Upon reaching Emporium, our heroes noticed something was wrong. The escalators from the SkyTrain station into the mall wasn't working. To their surprise, Emporium had a complete blackout, and only some of the stores had power from the backup generators.
This meant that the Taimya shop was in complete darkness, and we had to fumble around looking for our parts using the guard's flashlight. It really isn't every day you find a situation like this... Eventually, we found two gearboxes, and we bought them. Our quest has finally ended.
