My Freshmen Year . .
|
|
Since my freshmen year was close to four years ago, it's a little hard for me to remember it.
But I do have fond memories of much of it.
When I arrived at Yale however, I was very much not into being there.
I didn't have any friends really and just wanted to go home and see my friends, family, and dog.
Eventually, I got out and started having fun on the weekends.
I became very close friends with my neighbors and roommates.

I began training very diligently at TKD.
I also spent lots of time at the gym working out and at Wing Chun practice.
On the less active side, I also spent lots of time next door hanging out and watching cartoons.
In terms of academics, I attended my chemistry lab, English and Korean very diligently.

But unfortunately, I never took to my intro micro-economics course and missed many many lectures.
It's a wonder how I am an economics major.
Thankfully, it only requires but a sparse nine credits.
Anyway, I began becoming very close with the boys of my floor.
Soon after, we started to hang out with the girls below.

During this time, we would also go out a lot with Kathy and Steve.
So a whole big group of us would hang out on the weekends and do crazy stuff.
Mainly, we would just amuse ourselves with the local Yale night life.
Fortunately, I was also able to keep myself grounded by spending time with my non-drinking friends.

Just to include some names of this crowd, there is Gautam, Jay & Sudarshan.
We would have our normal late-night chats about girlfriend issues or movies.
Or we could chill and watch a video.
All in all, I had a very happy freshmen year as I grew accustomed to being at Yale.
