 Vincent's Family are not natural-born Slayers, nor have they
haven't been slaying for very long. But those
who are vampire Hunters have made their mark large and
loud enough for the established groups and Slayer families to notice. His position was not inherited. He took it upon himself, just as the other members of his Family did, to protect mankind from creatures that
many would never believe in. It's more than a job to
him at this point, even while it was not when he first
began slaying.
Vince was once a part of the New York Forty. He was
brought in by the MacTavish Family, their two Families
having been associates in the past, and accepted by
the small, but growing group of vampire killers in the
big apple. He proved himself to be a lethal member of
the group, either alone or fighting with a group. He
especially teamed up very well with Echo MacTavish.
So, it was no surprise to anyone when they got
together. Whether he knew it or not at the time,
Vince was in love with Echo, but he was also stubborn.
And, being a young man, a slave to his desires. So
when he and Echo began throwning scathing comments
back and forth at each other, the team suspected that
Vince had done the wrong. And they were right.
Echo
asked him to leave. He did, returning to Germany to
slay there. But now he's returned to New York. It's
his home, his battleground, and he intends to keep it.
