From version 1.3.5 - added Audio Recorder for
recording custom or built-in drum patterns as wav/mp3 files (DAW
for non-professional use).
From version 1.3.4 - first program for PC that will allow to play drums with keyboard, mouse (including pedals)
and joystick. What is it good for? If you are lucky, one of
those drum sets on Play Station 2/3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360
made for video games Rock Band or Guitar Hero will work. Just
plug in usb port on your copmuter, and if Windows see it
as standard joystick (gamepad) controller, start to play. For
each button you can define your sound. Remember, for Xbox 360
drum set you need free driver from Microsoft.
From version 1.3.3 - user now can use custom wav files
and play it with DirectSound (opposite to DLS-2 sounds which are
played as DirectMusic segments). Freestyle play now got a speed.
On numeric keypad sounds effect can be played in a loop
From version 1.3.2 separate tool for merge two midi files
is a part of installation. Users now can make MIDI drum track
fro whole song (NkeybDrum-MMF.exe)
From version 1.3.1 every rhythm has picture of standard drum
notation. You can watch music sheet and with mouse make drum
pattern. It is fun and very educational.
From version 1.3.0 there are for parts of software:
Play, Learn, Lessons and Metronome. But, that new
part Metronome can replace old Learn and Lessons becase it
is graphical interface for entering drum data and graphical
representation of playing drums. This is excellent tool for
drum teachers and drum students. Custom drum patterns can be
saved as midi file. There are three type of counters and you
can settup any time signature: 4/4, 6/8, 11/16 etc.During
play you can watch Drumoke (like karaoke for words) and
practise with this drum machine. |

This is picture from "Play Mode". Can you imagine yoursefl
seating on throne, with legs kicking bass and hi-hat pedals
(mouse) and with fingers playing extended drum set: snare, 4
midi toms, 2 floor toms, open and closed hi-hat, ryde cymbal
1 and 2, crash cymbal 1 and 2, splash and chinese cymbal
(keyboard). This is not a MIDI sound, but GM.dls Even
more, with function keys on main keyboard while playing you
can run macros (like change drum sets (Standard, Room,
Power, Electronic, Jazz, Orchestra, SFX ), add
decibels for louder sound, set both pedals to bass kick ...).
From version 1.2.3 in "Learn Mode" you can use 9 drum kits
from GM2 specification (those seven + Analog and Brush Kit). |
Fun for kids! Play electronic drums with keyboard. Using both
hands (most of important drums have two keys, like snare, toms
etc). 46 different midi drum sounds, 68 total keys used, 8 colors.
The whole system can be used for musical education and as
didactical tool. This is in "Learn mode", for serious players
there is "Play mode" where they can use mice (pedals) and practise
real drumming.
Recomended age: 9+
As you can see, keycaps will also tell you which instrument
those key are for, not only a color. Note and note number are
taken from MIDI specification, white color is for snare, D 38 is
acoustic snare, E 40 electronic snare, on the down left side of
picture is black key with sign G#44, it is
Pedal Hi-Hat, right above are hi-hat czmbals, A#46 is Open Hi-Hat,
F#42 Close Hi-Hat, brown colored keys are toms etc. Numbers can be
from 27-81, letters represent musical scale, C,D,E,F,G,A,B with #
sign for semi-tone.
With this
two tools, keyboard & mouse players have look and feel of real
drums. This input devices are powered by best software for playing
drums on personal computeres (based on DirectX technology:
Microsoft Downloadable Sounds, DirectMusic and DirectInput). This
is not a MIDI.
