N'keybDrum - custom keyboard and foot mouse

N'keybDrum -Do It

Turn any PC into "real" Drum (with any type of keyboard or mouse or sound card)

This are pictures of new model of mouse: "Master Click Mouse", standard PS/2 optical mouse with three RJ-11 jacks inf front. Now we need pedals. You can make it by your own, order from me or buy "susstain pedal foot switch", then make adapter (phone jack to RJ-11) and play bass drum with it. Price of those pedals are about $12, adapter will cost you $2 and the end you will have cheapest bass drum instrument on the market which you can play on the street (of course, with notebook and good speakers). Search on internet for these models: Yamaha FC5 Sustain Footswitch, Roland DP-2 dumper pedal, M-Audio SP-1 Sustain Pedal,   buy adapter Stereo Quarter inch jack to Mono quarter inch plug and on one side put RJ-11 connector.

If you already have computer and good speakers (and who don't), with my program N'kebbDrum ($12), mouse control unit($12(, pedal ($12) you will get something like this ($350), of course not for playing in koncert, but for great fun.

What about N'keybDrum custom keyboard. Any keyboard can do.It sholud be simple keyboard without multimedia keys. Idea is that this will be drum console for playing drums with hands and we don't need anything that can confuse us (as players). All keys in color stays and representative one drum sound, smaller functions keys are used for macros and actions (like change drum set, set both pedals as drum kick etc). For begining pull out all keys in grey color (ctrl, shift, alt etc). Congratulation. Now you can play without fear of mistake. Of course, if you want (and who don't) that you instrument look nicer, than cover individual holes (on the picture those keys have white double circle on it) with smaller rounde keys (put in a hole bigger rubber from mouse pad and than on front of it put big office needle in silever color), on the left and right side of main part of keyboard cover holes with full plastic shape (cut it from plastic office folders, choose color) and you are done. Easiest way to do all this is to open keyboard (with screwdriver) and with plastic gun put a plastic glue on the back side of front cover of keyboard, in that case you can solder diodes in three different colors, but this is optional.
Make your own keyboard skin  (clck on this small pictures to get big picture and then Back button to return to this page)

What about sound card. Any full-duplex will do. And yes, they are all full-duplex (some more than 10 years odl maybe not).Sound is Microsoft downloadable sounds technology (based on Roland Sound Canvas technology) os on every computer sound will be the same (these are wave samples loaded in memory and mixed when needed). If you put good quolity speakers than you will think that this is a real drum you are playing. If you have a lot of memory (RAM), 256 or more then you eill hear sound instantly (after a key press, 2 millisec delay is a default). If you made one longer key (for rideing rhythm om closed hi-hat) so you can easilly cross a hands then you can play with bend in a garage.
