KaPlaReD (Karaokee Player and Recorderp with Drums
code name N'keybDrum) is successor over KaReK, same type of software from 2003.
but no signle copy was sold. So here it is, new interface and
many new features added. Concept.is the same, "All-In-One" fun for whole
family. It means that every member of family can record their voice (while
singing with help of lyrics showing on screen in the rhythm of music) and ("I
don't know but I've been told , Everybodyl loves Drums".) kids can learn and
play electronic drums on personal computers. This drums give people real "feel
and look" of drums because it involves keyboard (N'keybDrum - custom designed
keyboard for hands) and mouse (N'micedrum - custom mouse for legs, bass and
hi-hat pedals). Whole software is very educational, drum can be used as
didactical tool, and can be even used for recording custom audio effects. Now
you can add effects on midi files (DirectMusic) and wave files (DirectSound).
You can also add effects on voice (microfone) but I must admit, that this part
is not so usefull. Every particular task (job) now have it own window so
Recorder is independent from other parts, you can record your karaoke singing,
speech, drums or whatever and save that audio file in wave format with mp3
codec. Yu can also play several audio files at the same file, like midi with
effects, wave with effects, mp3 file in audio player and than kids can play
drums and record all this noise. This is all "deja vu", but this software has
several things that are not so common. First of all, one tehnical detail, after
many years I finally succeded to make synchronize of music and lyrics (karaoke
words) with DirectX music time, not with any kind of timers or high-level API's.
Second, you can convert lyrics to smi format (this format us used by Microsoft
Media Player to show subtitles of video files). They called "closed captioning"
or SAMI. Converter will aslo prepare htm file, so it can be played over internet
and user will see caraoke words. Third, there is custom made style file (with
DiretMusic Producer, for drums sound) so in "Play mode" alll drums sound
are from GM.dls not MIDI instruments.Quite enough for "one man bend show". Here

(standard, power, electronic ..), activate pedals (mouse to play with
feets)
- N'keybDrum - Learn mode (button with Snare icon) - here drummer can
play only on keyboard, 46 different MIDI drum sounds, there is small
metronome with sound and light-show (I used led diodes for that, they
blinking in rhythm of bars and beats, let me know if someone else ever
used CapsLock and ScrollLock diodes on keyboard for any other pupose
like me in his software)
