Prue
Shannen Doherty Prue was the oldest of the Halliwell sisters. She had the power of telekinesis (the ability to move things without touching them) and in Series Two she developed the power of astral projection (meaning she could leave her physical body and appear elsewhere as her "astral" self). This came in handy on many occasions, but could be a liability when her astral self developed a mind of her own. In the Season Three episode Just Harried her astral self almost ruined Piper and Leo's wedding by getting up to mischief while "real" Prue was asleep or unconscious.

In the line of duty, Prue was turned into a dog (Look Who’s Barking) and a man (She's a Man, Baby, a Man!) while in Wrestling with Demons she risked being sucked into a hellish inferno when she entered the ring with demonic professional wrestlers in order to save a former boyfriend.

At the begining of the series Prue was re-united with her high school sweetheart, Andy Trudeau, who was now a SFPD detective. They began dating again; but having to hide the fact that she was a witch from him created difficulties for their relationship. He eventually discovered the Halliwells' secret and died in the Season One finale Deja Vu All Over Again while trying to protect them. After that, her longest running love interest was Jack Sheridan who lasted seven episodes in Season Two. She found herself strongly drawn to the mobster Bane Jessup, and an encouter with a shape-shifting demon called Zile(who she was tricked into actually marrying, though it didn't last!) in Season Three's Bride and Gloom forced her to admit that she liked at least a little evil in her men.

In Season One she landed a job at the Buckland Auction House where her employer, Rex Buckland, turned out to be an evil impostor who, along with his assistant Hannah Webster, did his best to destroy the Halliwells and steal their powers. After the Charmed Ones defeated him Prue stayed on at the auction house for a while before making a career switch to freelance photographer. Prue died in the Season Three finale All Hell Breaks Loose after being attacked by the demon Shax.

Shannen Doherty moved at the age of seven with her family to Los Angeles. After being seen by Michael Landon in an episode of "Father Murphy", she was cast as Jenny Wilder in "Little House: A New Beginning"at the age of 11. The role of Brenda on the immensely popular "Beverly Hills 90210" cemented her stardom. She left the series after four seasons, allegedly because of conflicts with other cast members and late appearances on the set.

Unfortunately she has something of a history in this regard; in 1994 it is said she almost lost her role in William ("The Exorcist") Friedkin's "Jailbreakers" when she failed to turn up on the the first day of shooting. Whatever the truth, Spelling was obviously willing to give her a second chance and cast her as Prue in "Charmed". After three successful seasons there was once again a parting of the ways, the details of (and speculation about!) which can be read here.

Has had a string of well-publicised personal difficulties, most recently her conviction for DUI, while in 1997 she was sentenced to anger management counselling after an incident in which she smashed a beer bottle over a car.

She was romantically linked with former Charmed co-star Julian McMahon (Cole) who also appeared with her in 2001's TV movie Another Day (which Doherty also directed). However it was recently reported that she had married 32-year-old movie producer Rick Solomon in Las Vegas. See E! Online Article
