Bride and Gloom

Full Storyline

Back inside P³ Leo and Piper are making wedding plans. Prue joins them and when Piper asks her if she's intending bringing Justin to the wedding, she says she isn't sure; she finds Justin a bit safe and predictable. Piper goes to the loo, and while she's in there, Prue confides to Leo that she is a little disappointed and jealous that, as the oldest sister, she won't be the first to get married. Meanwhile the guy we saw earlier shape-shifts into a Piper look-a-like (see, he was evil!) and borrows Prue's lippy. Out of sight, he disappears and reappears at a gloomy looking altar.

A woman appears in front of him and he addresses her as the High Priestess Dantalian. We learn that his name is Zile. Dantalian uses the lipstick to prepare a potion which she smears on Zile's lips. With this potion, Prue will be paralyzed if he kisses her. The plan is then to bring her to the altar, where Dantalian will marry them, Prue will fall into a deep sleep and turn evil. As the Charmed Ones and the Book of Shadows are inter-connected this will have the effect of turning them all to the dark side.

Next morning Prue gets a call from Justin asking her to meet him at the restaurant instead of at the manor. Phoebe goes to the mausoleum looking for Cole. He is pleased to see her but the first thing she does is punch him on the nose "for ruining my favourite movie and, oh yeah, my life too". Undaunted he explains that he has been in hiding so The Source won't find out he is still alive and has taken a great risk in contacting her. He wants to be with Phoebe and says he can supress his demon half in the same way he supressed his human half before he met her. Phoebe is having none of it and storms out saying she wants no more to do with him.

Meanwhile the Justin who meets Prue for lunch is a suave and debonaire one. She is enjoying his company when he leans over to kiss her. Yep, it's really Zile and she is taken off to Dantalian's altar where Zile changes back to his real self and Dantalian conducts the wedding ceremony. When Dantalian gives Zile a congratulatory kiss, he too is paralyzed and realises she has double-crossed him. Her plan is to get the Book of Shadows for herself..

Alerted to Prue's disappearance when the real Justin turn up on the dooorstep, Piper, Phoebe and Leo put their heads together, but come up with nothing. Phoebe visits Cole again to see if he can help. Although it is dangerous, he agrees to find out what he can, but only, he emphasises, because of his feelings for her. Phoebe surprises him and possibly herself by kissing him passionately before she leaves.

Phoebe returns to the manor to find that the Book of Shadows is now full of evil spells, and that she and Piper now possess warlocks' powers. Dantalian's plan is working. As they revel in their new powers Leo gets a message that they are no longer entitled to Whitelighter protection and orbs out.

When Phoebe goes to her room to change into something a little more evil-looking, Cole is waiting for her. He has found out what is going on with Prue. However in her evil state Phoebe is more interested in getting physical with Belthazor and beats Cole up until he changes into him. He shimmers away before anything can happen, warning her that Dantalian is on her way.

The triquetta on the Book of Shadows glows red, the sign Dantalian has been waiting for. She appears in the attic and grabs the book. Thanks to Cole's warning Piper and Phoebe are waiting for her and soon get the better of her. They torture her to reveal Prue's whereabouts. Piper freezes Dantalian's hand to ice, then smashes it with a candlestick when she won't talk. Leo orbs in and startles the girls, allowing Dantalian to escape. They retaliate by freezing and smashing him!

Dark Side Piper and Phoebe realise they still have to rescue Prue out of self interest. If she dies their evil Power of Three will be broken. They try using their warlock powers to "blink" to Prue's location and appear at the altar. Dantalian awakens Prue and Zile and turns them on to the other two. Things get really complicated when Zile shape-shitfts and there are two Prues to fight, both armed with daggers. Piper freezes one and, as Dantalian shouts "No! Zile!" Phoebe shatters the frozen Prue. It was Zile and the spell is broken. All three sisters and the Book of Shadows return to their normal state. Piper does a "normal" freeze on Dantalian and they destroy her with a spell from the Book of Shadows.

Danger passed, Prue gloats that she was the first to get marrried after all! Back at the manor, Piper is relieved to find that the Elders have put Leo back together again. A discussion about good and evil ensues and Prue admits that there is something sexy about the dark side and she now realises that Justin is just too boring for her. It gives her a little more insight into Phoebe's feelings for Cole.

Phoebe pays another secret visit to the mausoleum. She thanks Cole for his help but says she hasn't changed her mind about their relationship, the danger that his evil side will pose a threat to her and her sisters is too great. Cole for his part says he is not giving up!
